Major service update

Votran Bus Schedule Changes Effective October 4, 2026

The October changes matter because some older Votran schedules still appear in searches. Use the updated route directory and confirm the correct service day.

June 28, 2026 — Earlier route adjustments

Routes 3 and 4 moved to hourly service, with scheduled Transfer Plaza departures at 30 minutes past the hour under the June service plan. Other routes, including Route 5, were adjusted.

October 4, 2026 — Weekday and Saturday changes

Minor schedule adjustments affected Routes 3, 7, 12, 17, 19, 30 and 40. Route 8 changed to Transfer Plaza departures at 35 minutes past the hour. Route 31’s alignment and some trips changed, and Route 60 lost selected weekday trips.

New Route 61X — Cross County Express

Limited weekday and Saturday trips connect Daytona Beach with West Volusia via Interstate 4. The route does not operate like a frequent local bus.

Routes 33 and 70 discontinued

Passengers who previously used these fixed routes should check VoRide and other available bus connections instead of relying on older timetables.

Sunday changes

Sunday Routes 3, 4, 10 and 15 were replaced by VoRide. A Daytona Beach Sunday VoRide zone operates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. according to the county’s October announcement.

Route 3 timing warning: The June timetable introduced hourly departures at :30, but the October update made additional timing adjustments. Check the effective October timetable or MyStop rather than assuming an earlier printed departure still applies.

Looking for Votran Route 3? Votran’s Route 3 is North Ridgewood in Volusia County. Route 3 is also used by other transit agencies around the country. Our Route 3 bus schedule comparison guide helps distinguish similarly numbered services, but Votran’s own timetable controls Daytona-area departures.
Departure times and service frequency

Votran Bus Schedule: First Bus, Last Bus and Running Times

Most Votran scheduled bus service runs Monday through Saturday, commonly from around 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., but certain routes begin earlier, end later or operate differently. There is no single first or last bus for the entire Votran network.

Common daytime service Around 6 AM

Some local routes start earlier or later. Check the first departure at your specific stop.

Typical daytime end Around 7:30 PM

Not a systemwide last-bus guarantee. Check return trips and evening alternatives.

Route frequency Varies

Some routes run every 30 minutes at certain times; others are hourly or limited-trip services.

How to Check the Correct Timetable

1. RouteIdentify the exact route number and corridor.
2. DirectionChoose inbound, outbound or destination-based service.
3. DayChoose weekday, Saturday, Sunday or holiday.
4. TimepointFind the closest major stop or intersection.
5. Live timeCheck your exact stop in MyStop.

October 2026 Schedule Details Worth Knowing

Route Published service detail What riders should do
3 North Ridgewood Hourly pattern introduced June 28; further minor adjustments October 4. Confirm the updated stop timetable, not an old :30 departure assumption.
4 South Ridgewood Hourly service introduced June 28 with Transfer Plaza departures at :30. Check route-specific operating day and stop times.
8 Halifax Transfer Plaza departures at :35 under the October 4 change. Allow time to reach the correct Transfer Plaza bay.
31 SunRail Selected trips connect directly to Amelia Superstop; Market Place Shopping Center routing changed. Check the current route alignment and SunRail connection timing.
60 East–West Selected weekday trips were removed; Sunday service limited to Transfer Plaza–Branch Jail. Check the correct day and endpoint before planning a cross-county trip.
61X Express Limited weekday and Saturday departures. Use the exact published trip, rather than assuming a recurring hourly express.
Approximate running time: Use the official timetable’s origin and destination timepoints or MyStop’s trip planner. Actual ride duration depends on distance, number of stops, traffic and the service pattern. Do not assume a published terminal departure is the time the bus reaches your stop.

Official fixed-route fares

Votran Bus Fare Prices, Day Passes and Reduced Rates

Votran’s published fare structure offers single rides and unlimited-use passes. Since standard bus transfers are not offered, choosing the right pass is especially important when your journey requires multiple boardings.

Ticket / Pass Adult Eligible reduced fare
Single ride $2.00 $1.00
All-day pass $4.00 $2.00
3-day pass $8.00 $4.00
7-day pass $15.00 $7.50
31-day pass $50.00 $25.00
Child under 7 Free with fare-paying adult, up to three qualifying children

When Does a Day Pass Save Money?

For a standard adult rider, compare the number of separate bus boardings you need in one day.

One single ride$2 cash
Two separate rides$4 cash
Three separate rides$6 cash
One boarding $2

A single fare is generally cheaper than an adult day pass.

Two boardings $4

Two single fares equal the $4 adult day pass price.

Three or more Save

A $4 day pass saves $2 compared with three $2 cash boardings.

Fare-saving tip: Standard Votran fixed-route transfers are not provided. Ask for the day pass before putting money into the farebox if you plan to make several trips. Special SunRail and properly booked VoRide intermodal connections have separate rules.

Who Can Receive Reduced Fares?

Votran lists reduced fares for riders aged 7–18, senior citizens aged 65 or older, and eligible people with disabilities. Riders must carry acceptable proof of eligibility, such as an appropriate government ID, school ID, qualifying Medicare card or Votran photo ID.

How to Buy a Votran Pass

  1. Decide whether you need a single ride or a multi-day pass.
  2. Prepare exact cash/coins or an accepted Votran pass.
  3. For an all-day pass, tell the bus operator before inserting payment.
  4. For other passes, check the Transfer Plaza, Votran office or authorized sales locations.
  5. Insert or swipe the pass as instructed. The pass validity period begins at first activation.
  6. Carry proper identification if using a reduced fare.

How to Track a Votran Bus With MyStop

Votran’s official MyStop system provides route and stop lookup, trip-planning features and real-time bus information where available. A live prediction can change as a bus moves through traffic.

Votran Live Bus Tracking: 5 Steps

Use the exact bus stop, not merely the nearest road or transit center.

1
Open MyStop

Use the official online tracker or app.

2
Select route

Find the Votran bus number.

3
Pick direction

Match your intended destination.

4
Select stop

Confirm the stop name or ID.

5
Recheck

Refresh arrival predictions and alerts.

Open MyStop Live Tracker

Check a Bus by Stop Number With Vo-To-Go

Votran’s rider instructions also describe a text-message stop lookup system. Look for the stop’s blue-and-white ID tag before using it.

Step 1 Find the stop ID printed on the actual Votran bus-stop pole.
Step 2 Text the published number 321-123 with VO followed by the stop number.
Step 3 Review the automated departure response, if the service is available.

Example format: VO followed immediately by your real stop ID. Do not use a made-up number. Text service availability and carrier charges may vary.

Scheduled Time vs Live Arrival

Scheduled departure

The official timetable’s planned departure for the route and service day. It does not guarantee the bus is on time.

Live predicted arrival

An updated estimate where real-time vehicle information is available. Traffic, GPS delays, detours and cancellations can affect it.

On-demand travel

VoRide Service: Zones, Hours, Prices and How to Book

VoRide is Votran’s on-demand, shared-ride transportation service in designated zones. Instead of following every stop of a fixed bus route, VoRide arranges a ride within an eligible zone or to a designated transfer connection.

East Volusia VoRide

Book with: VoTran On Demand app or call (386) 761-7700.

Published areas include Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater and Ponce Inlet, plus the designated night and Sunday service arrangements.

Same-day booking options are described in the operator’s app guidance.

West Volusia VoRide

Book with: VoRide app or call (386) 210-9861.

Zones include DeLand, Orange City/DeBary and Deltona. Cross-zone journeys may require booking a connection through a transfer point.

Most rides are booked when needed; some DeLand SunRail station trips can be prebooked up to 24 hours in advance.

VoRide Service Examples

Zone / service Published operating pattern Important rider detail
Ormond Beach Monday–Saturday, 6 AM–7 PM Covers designated area north of Granada Boulevard; connects with fixed buses near Thompson Creek Superstop and other approved points.
New Smyrna Beach / Edgewater Monday–Saturday, 7 AM–6 PM Can connect to Votran buses at Julia Street / Sams Avenue Superstop.
Ponce Inlet Monday–Saturday, 6 AM–7 PM On-demand service south of Dunlawton; Votran identifies Uber Transit as the service provider.
West Volusia Weekdays generally 6 AM–9 PM; Saturdays 7 AM–7 PM DeLand, Orange City/DeBary and Deltona zone rules apply.
Daytona Sunday zone Sunday, 7 AM–7 PM under October 2026 plan Replaces Sunday coverage previously provided by Routes 3, 4, 10 and 15 in the designated area.

VoRide Fare Structure

Standard base fare $2

Up to five miles in applicable zones.

Additional mileage +$1

Per additional mile from five to ten miles where applicable. Edgewater has separate flat-fare rules.

Reduced base fare $1

Eligible riders, with reduced additional-mile rates where applicable.

Intermodal transfer tip: When your properly booked trip combines VoRide and a Votran bus, the VoRide portion may be free while you pay the regular bus fare. The bus connection must be included in the VoRide booking. Simply booking two unrelated trips may not qualify.
Sunday service distinction: The October 2026 announcement established a Daytona Beach Sunday VoRide zone. Do not assume every East or West Volusia VoRide zone also operates on Sunday. Check the correct zone, booking app and current service notice.

Bus-to-train connections

Votran and SunRail: DeBary, DeLand and Orlando Connections

SunRail connects Volusia County with parts of Central Florida, including downtown Orlando and points south. Votran’s official SunRail information identifies DeBary and DeLand stations as Volusia County train stations.

LYNX Local connection

DeBary SunRail Station

Address: 630 S. Charles R. Beall Boulevard, DeBary, FL.

Votran Route 31 connects to this station, with VoRide alternatives available within applicable West Volusia zones.

DeLand SunRail Station

Address: 2491 Old New York Avenue, DeLand, FL.

VoRide provides designated DeLand station connections, including a published advance-booking option for qualifying station trips.

How the Bus–Train Fare Connection Works

Votran’s official SunRail instructions distinguish train-to-bus and bus-to-train transfers. For a qualifying SunRail-to-Votran connection, present the appropriate train ticket to the bus operator. For Votran-to-SunRail travel, pay the bus fare and request the appropriate transfer documentation before buying the train ticket. Check the latest participating-service rules.

Going onward to Orlando? SunRail and Votran do not use the same local route numbering system. After arriving in the Orlando area, our LYNX Orlando bus schedules and SunRail connection guide can help identify the next local bus, including downtown and airport-area routes.

Votran Transfer Plaza — Daytona Beach

The Transfer Plaza is a major hub at approximately 207 Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard, Daytona Beach, FL. Confirm the appropriate bay and route direction before boarding, especially when changing from a local service to Route 60 or 61X.

How to Find a Stop Near You

  1. Open the Votran route map or MyStop planner.
  2. Enter your current address, landmark or destination.
  3. Select the route and review the boarding stop.
  4. Confirm the correct side of the street and destination headsign.
  5. Check the stop ID and arrival prediction shortly before leaving.

For additional instructions on comparing walking distances, transfers and scheduled versus live departures in Google Maps, see our Google Maps public transit route and stop-finding guide.

Map freshness: A route map is not a guarantee of the current timetable. The October 4, 2026 changes affected some routes, and older PDF maps may retain discontinued services. The current route page, MyStop and live service alerts should control your final decision.
Weekend and holiday travel

Does Votran Run on Sundays and Holidays?

Votran has different service patterns for regular weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. East Volusia has selected Sunday transportation, while West and Southeast Volusia may have different restrictions.

Monday–Friday

Most fixed routes operate, but early, late and peak-hour frequencies differ. Route 61X has specific limited weekday departures.

Saturday

Some routes follow separate schedules. VoRide zone hours and Route 61X departures may also differ from weekdays.

Sunday

Routes 3, 4, 10 and 15 were replaced by VoRide in the designated Daytona Beach Sunday zone, 7 AM–7 PM, effective October 4, 2026.

Holiday Travel Warning

Votran publishes special holiday operating information covering holidays such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Not every route or VoRide zone follows the same pattern.

Check the actual holiday: The official holiday page contains general Sunday/holiday guidance, but the October 2026 network changes affect which Sunday routes operate. Do not assume an older Sunday schedule is valid for a future holiday.

Using Votran for Daytona Beach, DeLand and Beyond

Searching by your destination may be easier than memorizing route numbers. Start with your intended area, then verify that the latest timetable serves the actual bus stop.

Daytona Beach and beachside

Use the relevant A1A, Halifax, Orange Avenue or connecting corridor route. Confirm whether a late or Sunday journey requires a different service.

DeLand and DeBary

Start with Route 30, Route 31, Route 60, Route 61X or VoRide according to the specific destination and operating day.

New Smyrna Beach

Check the Southeast Connector and designated VoRide zones. Transfers may be required at the Julia Street / Sams Avenue Superstop.

Traveling Outside Volusia County?

Votran is a local and regional Volusia County transit system. It is not a direct replacement for a Jacksonville or Orlando transit network. If your journey continues north toward Jacksonville, plan the separate intercity travel segment first and use our Jacksonville JTA bus route, fare and transfer guide for local transportation after arriving in the Jacksonville area.

For trips requiring a train or a different county’s operator, check all separate schedules and allow enough time for connections. A Votran pass does not automatically provide unlimited travel on other transit networks.

Accessibility and rider services

Votran Accessibility, Wheelchair Boarding and VoAccess

Votran states that its fixed-route buses are accessible, with wheelchair lifts or ramps and kneeling capability. Individual stop conditions, curb access, temporary closures and available space should still be considered.

Specify a wheelchair when booking so an appropriate vehicle can be assigned where available.

VoAccess paratransit

VoAccess, formerly known as Votran Gold, provides specialized transportation under separate eligibility and reservation rules.
