Important 2026 schedule update

JTA Schedule Changes Effective June 15, 2026

JTA implemented another service adjustment on June 15, 2026. Riders using an older printed timetable should replace it with the current schedule.

Weekday schedule changes Routes 10, 12, 14, 24 and 32 received weekday schedule changes.

Saturday schedule changes Routes 10, 12, 14, 24 and 32 received Saturday schedule changes.

Sunday schedule changes Routes 10, 12, 14 and 24 received Sunday schedule changes.

Frequency changes Routes 1, 3 and 19 were included in JTA’s June frequency adjustments, along with multiple First Coast Flyer lines.

Timepoint changes Route 31 and the First Coast Flyer Orange Line were included in the published timepoint changes.

JTA has published proposed service modifications for October 2026. These should not be treated as active service before JTA confirms implementation.

How the First Coast Flyer Connects Jacksonville

JTA describes First Coast Flyer as its limited-stop bus rapid transit network. The official PDFs use lettered timepoints and station names; the simplified diagram below translates that structure into an easier trip-planning view.

This is an explanatory diagram, not an official geographic map. It intentionally shows selected major timepoints from JTA’s timetable documents. Use the official PDFs for every station, transfer route and exact departure.

Understanding JTA departure times

JTA Bus Times: Scheduled Time vs. Your Actual Stop

JTA timetable PDFs usually show selected timepoints, not a printed departure for every bus stop. A timepoint is a major station or intersection used to organize the schedule.

Scheduled time The published time at a major timepoint. It represents the planned service, not a guarantee that traffic will allow an exact arrival.

Intermediate stop A normal stop between two printed timepoints may not have its own time in the PDF. Use the trip planner or real-time arrival tool.

Live prediction A real-time estimate based on the operating vehicle. It can change as traffic, dwell time and detours change.

The current Blue Line timetable is effective June 15, 2026 and includes JRTC at LaVilla, Kings Avenue Station, University Transit Hub, Philips & Baymeadows, Avenues Mall and Avenues Walk Park-n-Ride as major timetable points.

Duval County middle & high school students JTA’s My Ride 2 School program allows eligible students to ride JTA buses and First Coast Flyer without fare when the required school identification is shown.

Non-DCPS students JTA provides Purple STAR Card guidance for eligible homeschool, charter and other non-DCPS riders.

College students JTA currently advertises a college reduced-fare program with a $1 single ride and $35 31-day pass after enrollment verification.

Do not assume a student card works automatically. School type, registration and annual enrollment verification can affect eligibility.

How to Plan a JTA Bus Trip Step by Step

Enter the exact origin and destination. Use the JTA trip planner or MyJTA instead of searching only for the neighborhood name.

Choose the travel date and arrival goal. Weekday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday schedules can differ.

Read the complete route name. Confirm, for example, Route 8 Beaches/Town Center rather than simply “Route 8.”

Match the bus destination. Check the final destination displayed on the bus before boarding.

Save the boarding location. At a transit hub, record the station or bay. On the street, verify the correct side of the roadway.

Check whether a transfer is required. Compare arrival and departure times rather than assuming immediate connection.

Check the live arrival. A real-time estimate is more useful than a static PDF when traffic has already affected the vehicle.

Check active alerts. Construction, events, severe weather and temporary stop closures may alter the normal trip.

How to Find and Use a JTA Bus Stop

JTA instructs riders to look for the posted JTA bus stop sign along the route. Stops are generally placed every few blocks, but the correct stop also depends on direction.

Check the street side The stop across the road may serve the opposite direction.

Stand where the driver can see you JTA tells riders to stand and signal the operator when the approaching bus is the one they want.

Check the destination sign Route number alone may not tell you whether the bus is traveling toward your intended terminal.

Signal before your stop Use the passenger signal strip near the windows as the bus approaches your destination.

Use the rear exit when practical JTA’s rider guidance asks passengers to leave through the rear door so the front remains clear for boarding.

Ask when unsure Tell the operator when you are unfamiliar with your destination and need help identifying the stop.

Using the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center at LaVilla

The JRTC at LaVilla is a major JTA transfer point. Routes are assigned to lettered boarding bays, and electronic displays in the bus area show route and bay information.

1. Check the bay Do not assume the bus departs from the same bay used on a previous trip. Read the current monitor or signage.

2. Check departure direction Several routes may use the same downtown hub but travel toward completely different parts of Jacksonville.

3. Allow transfer time Walking between bays and waiting for the next route requires time even when both buses are scheduled close together.

How to Read a JTA Schedule PDF Without Picking the Wrong Trip

Check the effective date first. Do this before reading any departure time.

Choose the correct direction. Timetables often separate northbound, southbound, eastbound or westbound service.

Choose the service day. Monday–Friday, Saturday and Sunday tables may be completely different.

Match map letters to timetable columns. First Coast Flyer PDFs use letters to connect map timepoints with timetable rows.

Identify connecting routes. Small route numbers beside a station indicate available connections, not additional stops on the same bus.

Read legends and footnotes. Symbols can identify park-and-ride facilities, ReadiRide zones, local connections or trip exceptions.

JTA Accessibility: Wheelchairs, Service Animals and Visual Assistance

JTA states that its vehicles are equipped with ramps or wheelchair lifts to assist riders on request. Trained service animals are welcome.

Wheelchair boarding Tell the operator when a ramp, lift or securement area is needed.

JTA has proposed extending Route 24 through 3rd Street to South Beach Regional as part of its October 2026 service changes. Continue using the current Mayport timetable until JTA publishes the final effective schedule.
