Route Q111 Bus Schedule: Times, Stops & Map

The Q111 bus runs 24 hours a day between Jamaica and Rosedale, Queens, via Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and 147th Avenue. Operated by MTA Bus Company, it connects the Parsons Boulevard/Hillside Avenue and Jamaica Center areas with South Jamaica, Springfield Gardens and Rosedale.

Since the Queens bus redesign, the Q111 is a Rush route: it skips selected local stops along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. The Q115 provides local service along that corridor. This guide explains the current weekday and weekend timetable, actual sample trips, stops, $3 fare, direction signs, live tracking and the limited Cedarhurst extension.

Quick answer for riders

What Time Does the Q111 Bus Run?

The Q111 operates all day and overnight on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. There is no single first or last bus in the ordinary sense because scheduled trips continue across midnight.

Weekday rush hour ~6–7 min Approximate frequent-service pattern
Weekday midday ~12 min Typical published interval
Weekend daytime ~12–15 min Depends on time and direction
Overnight 30–60 min Longer waits, depending on day
Frequency is not a departure time. The figures above summarize MTA’s service-frequency planning, not a guarantee that a bus arrives every six, twelve or thirty minutes at your particular stop. Use the official Q111 timetable or MTA Bus Time for the exact departure.

Open the official MTA Q111 timetable. It is labeled “Rosedale – Jamaica Rush via Brewer Blvd / 147 Av” and includes weekday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday instructions.

Critical 2026 route distinction

Q111 Is Now a Rush Route: What Changed?

The Queens Bus Network Redesign changed the Q111 on June 29, 2025. The route retained its general Jamaica–Rosedale corridor, but stopped serving several local stops along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard. The current timetable classifies all Q111 trips as Rush service.

Take Q111 when…

You are traveling between Rosedale, Springfield Gardens and the major Brewer Boulevard stops toward Jamaica, and your stop appears in the Q111 Rush stop list.

Take Q115 when…

You need a local stop along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard that Q111 now skips. The Q115 operates between Jamaica and Springfield Gardens and provides the underlying local service.

Do not board Q111 simply because it travels along your street. The bus may pass your destination without stopping. First search your exact intersection in MTA Bus Time and confirm Q111 appears as a serving route. If it does not, inspect Q115.

The MTA’s Q115 official schedule and route information explains the complementary local service. These are two separate routes, even where they share a roadway.

Actual duration can be longer during traffic, roadwork, bad weather or heavy boarding periods. A trip beginning at an intermediate stop may be much shorter.
Saturday, Sunday and overnight

Q111 Weekend Bus Schedule

The Q111 continues operating on Saturday and Sunday, including overnight hours. Weekend service is less frequent than the busiest weekday commuting periods, especially around midnight and early morning.

Saturday 24 hours Around 12-minute daytime intervals in the published frequency pattern, with longer waits at night.
Sunday 24 hours Midday service around 12–15 minutes; early morning and overnight gaps can be much longer.
Late-night Q111 Plan ahead Service continues across midnight, but some overnight intervals approach 30–60 minutes.

How to Read a Trip After Midnight

A journey that starts shortly before midnight may arrive after midnight on the next calendar day. Do not confuse a 12:10 AM departure with 12:10 PM, or assume that Sunday’s early-morning service follows Saturday’s daytime timetable.

For a late-night trip, use the official MTA timetable with the correct service day and then compare your stop’s predicted arrivals using MTA Bus Time.

Missed a weekend Q111? Recheck the exact stop rather than walking along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard to a different intersection. A passing Q111 may be on a Rush segment and may not serve the next local stop.
Visual frequency comparison

How Q111 Frequency Changes Through the Day

The following chart illustrates typical weekday frequency intervals drawn from the MTA Queens redesign service plan. Shorter intervals mean buses are scheduled more frequently. The bars compare frequency, not passenger demand or real-time reliability.

The chart uses planned average intervals, not measured on-time performance. Weekend overnight service can be less frequent. Exact departures vary by stop and direction.

Q111 Bus Stops: Jamaica to Rosedale

The Q111 uses Guy R. Brewer Boulevard for its Jamaica–Springfield Gardens corridor and 147th Avenue across the Rosedale area. Rush-stop spacing is wider on the Brewer Boulevard portion than on much of 147th Avenue.

Northbound Toward Jamaica

Northbound buses travel through Rosedale and Springfield Gardens toward the Jamaica subway connections. Important northbound stops include Francis Lewis Boulevard/147th Drive, Guy R. Brewer Boulevard/Farmers Boulevard, 137th Avenue, Baisley Boulevard, Foch Boulevard, Sayres Avenue, Archer Avenue/160th Street and Hillside Avenue/Parsons Boulevard.

Direction matters in Downtown Jamaica. Jamaica-bound Q111 service and Rosedale-bound service use different boarding streets near the terminals. Use the full direction-specific MTA Bus Time stop list rather than assuming the return stop is across the street.

How to Check the Correct Q111 Stop on a Map

  1. Open MTA Bus Time for Q111.
  2. Select “RUSH JAMAICA PARSONS-HILLSIDE” or “RUSH ROSEDALE F. LEWIS BL.”
  3. Open the direction-specific stop list or map.
  4. Find your intersection and confirm that it is a served stop.
  5. Select the stop for available estimated arrivals and alerts.
  6. Match the displayed stop position with the actual roadside sign.

When comparing walking routes, subway exits and nearby bus stops, our Google Maps bus routes and departure guide explains how to check pedestrian directions and transit alternatives. For the final Q111 stop and arrival prediction, use MTA Bus Time.

Limited weekday branch

Does the Q111 Go to Cedarhurst?

Some Q111 trips extend beyond the normal Rosedale terminal toward the Cedarhurst and Peninsula Boulevard area. This is a limited weekday trip pattern, not the destination of every Q111 bus.

Regular Q111 Most trips serve the Jamaica–Rosedale corridor and terminate in the Francis Lewis Boulevard area.
Cedarhurst extension The MTA route profile identifies a limited weekday trip into the Peninsula Boulevard/Rockaway Turnpike area, with direction-specific morning and afternoon service.

Special-Trip Stops Beyond Rosedale

The MTA lists locations including Rosedale Road, Brookfield Road, Mill Road and Peninsula Boulevard on the limited extension. Its northern terminal for that extended pattern is Peninsula Boulevard/Rockaway Turnpike.

Do not assume every Q111 goes to Cedarhurst. Check the bus headsign for “CEDARHURST PENINSULA BL” and verify the specific scheduled trip. A standard Q111 marked “ROSEDALE F. LEWIS BL” is not the same trip.

For the precise extension time, consult the current Q111 PDF’s Peninsula Boulevard timepoint column. Blank entries mean that particular trip does not serve the extended terminal.

Subway and connecting buses

Q111 Connections at Jamaica Center and Parsons Boulevard

The Q111 is especially useful for connecting southern Queens neighborhoods with the Jamaica subway network. However, the two important subway access areas are different locations, and you should identify which one is best for your transfer.

Hillside Av / Parsons Blvd F Nearby Parsons Boulevard subway station. Check the correct station entrance and travel direction.
Archer Av / Parsons Blvd E · J · Z Jamaica Center–Parsons/Archer area. Major subway and bus connection point.
Other Jamaica buses Q routes Multiple bus routes serve the wider Jamaica area. Use the route number and stop location to find a transfer.

Q111 to Jamaica Center: Step by Step

  1. Board a Q111 showing the Jamaica Parsons-Hillside destination.
  2. Check whether Archer Avenue/160th Street or Hillside Avenue/Parsons Boulevard is the more useful stop for your subway connection.
  3. Request your stop before the bus reaches it.
  4. Exit safely and follow the station signs.
  5. Tap the same OMNY card or device for any eligible free transfer.

For a broader explanation of Queens route prefixes, Rush versus local buses and connections across the MTA network, use our MTA bus schedule and Queens route directory. It is particularly helpful when a trip requires a second bus outside the Q111 corridor.

Connecting to JFK Airport

Q111 is not an airport terminal bus. If your journey starts in Springfield Gardens or around Farmers Boulevard and ends at JFK Airport, check the Q3, which serves airport-related destinations and the Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain connection.

Our Q3 Jamaica–JFK Airport bus timetable and terminal guide covers the Farmers Boulevard corridor, airport stop patterns, airport terminals and AirTrain transfer guidance. Verify the transfer stop and travel direction before leaving Q111.

Connecting Toward Gateway Center and East New York

For journeys from Jamaica toward 101st Avenue, East New York or Gateway Center, the Q8 is another route worth checking. The Q8 bus schedule between Jamaica and Gateway Center explains that route’s stops and boarding instructions. It does not replace the Q111; use it only when your destination or connection requires the Q8 corridor.

2026 MTA fare information

How Much Is the Q111 Bus Fare?

The standard MTA Q111 Rush bus fare is $3.00 in 2026. Rush buses use the regular local-bus fare, not the higher express-bus fare.

Regular adult fare $3.00 One paid ride
Reduced Fare $1.50 Eligible seniors and riders with qualifying disabilities
OMNY weekly cap $35.00 Qualifying full-fare subway and local-bus travel
Reduced weekly cap $17.50 Registered Reduced-Fare OMNY customers

How to Pay on Q111

  1. Prepare an OMNY Card, contactless credit/debit card or supported mobile wallet.
  2. Enter through the front door.
  3. Tap your card or device against the OMNY reader.
  4. Check for confirmation and continue into the bus.
  5. When transferring, use the same card or device to preserve eligible transfer benefits.

Can I Still Pay Cash or Use MetroCard?

The MTA stopped selling or refilling MetroCards at the start of 2026 and is transitioning fully to OMNY. Its August 2026 bus-riding instructions said valid existing MetroCards and exact coin fares were still accepted pending a separately announced final cutoff. Because the cutoff can change, check current MTA payment instructions before relying on either method.

Cash can also be used to load an OMNY Card at supported vending machines and retailers. See the official MTA bus riding and payment guide for the current rules.

Free Transfers and Fare Cap

Eligible local bus and subway transfers are generally valid within two hours of the original paid tap. OMNY’s seven-day cap is applied automatically when you consistently use the same payment card or device. Group taps and free transfers do not each count as separate paid trips toward the cap.

Money-saving tip Do not alternate between your physical bank card and the phone wallet version of that card if you want all eligible rides to count toward the same OMNY fare cap. Use the exact same payment method.

Check OMNY’s official seven-day fare cap rules.

Real-time bus arrivals

How to Track Q111 Buses Live

MTA Bus Time provides route directions, stop lists, bus positions and predicted arrivals where available. A scheduled departure is not necessarily a live prediction; traffic, congestion, detours or temporary data issues can change what you see.

1 Open Bus Time Visit the official MTA tracker.
2 Search Q111 Select Rosedale–Jamaica Rush.
3 Pick direction Jamaica or Rosedale.
4 Choose stop Match your stop ID or intersection.
5 Recheck Compare arrivals and alerts before leaving.

Open MTA Bus Time for Q111.

Useful Stop-Code Example

The MTA stop at Guy R. Brewer Boulevard/137th Avenue has been published with stop code 552322. MTA Bus Time can show available Q111 and other corridor arrivals for that stop.

To use a stop code, enter it into MTA Bus Time. The agency also provides stop-based text arrival information; its published instructions use the stop code sent to 511123. Always verify the posted stop number because the opposite-direction stop will normally have a different identifier.

“Bus approaching” versus “scheduled departure” An approaching bus can be shown with distance, stops away and estimated time. A timetable departure may be displayed even if there is no confirmed real-time vehicle position. If no bus is visible, check service alerts before deciding that a trip is canceled.
Disability and accessible boarding

Q111 Wheelchair Accessibility and Special Assistance

The MTA states that its buses are accessible to wheelchair users. Nevertheless, the route’s physical stops can be affected by uneven sidewalks, construction, temporary stop movement or snow. Confirm the exact boarding and exit location when planning an accessible trip.

Accessible vehicles MTA buses accommodate wheelchairs. The driver can provide boarding assistance with the vehicle’s accessible equipment.
Accessible stop approach Check the curb, crossing, shelter placement and route to your destination. A stop closure can change the accessible path.
Reduced fares Riders aged 65 or older and people with qualifying disabilities may receive reduced fares through the MTA program.

Accessible Journey Checklist

  1. Find your actual Q111 boarding stop in MTA Bus Time.
  2. Confirm that the stop is part of the current Rush stopping pattern.
  3. Check the walking or rolling path from your starting location.
  4. Look for current stop closures or construction.
  5. Check accessible station details if transferring to the subway.
  6. Contact MTA rider assistance through 511, or use 711 relay, when necessary.

Late-Night Request-a-Stop Rule

Between 10 PM and 5 AM, MTA permits eligible request-a-stop drop-offs on local buses and Rush routes in their local segments, subject to the bus operator finding a safe location. It does not apply to the Rush segment where limited stops are made.

Do not assume that nighttime request-a-stop applies everywhere on Q111. Tell the operator your intended location before approaching it, and follow their decision about a safe permitted drop-off.

Read MTA’s accessible boarding and late-night bus rules.

Common Q111 Problems and Practical Solutions

Q111 passed my stop without stopping.

Your intersection may be in the Rush segment. Check whether it was removed from the Q111 stopping pattern and whether Q115 serves it.

My bus goes to Rosedale, not Cedarhurst.

The Cedarhurst extension is limited. Use the specific Peninsula Boulevard destination sign and confirm the weekday trip.

I need the E, J or Z subway.

Plan for the Jamaica Center–Parsons/Archer area, not automatically the Hillside Avenue F station. Check the correct stop and walking path.

The bus tracker shows no arrival.

Check for a live-data problem, canceled trip, stop closure or detour. Compare the official timetable with the latest MTA notices.

I need to return late at night.

Q111 operates overnight, but intervals are wider. Check your exact return-direction stop and the next scheduled departure.

My phone’s map shows an old stop.

Use MTA Bus Time’s current stop list. The Queens redesign removed or consolidated some stops that can still appear in old online maps.

Frequently asked questions

Q111 Bus Schedule FAQs

1. Does the Q111 bus run 24 hours?

Yes. The MTA Q111 operates 24 hours a day on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Overnight trips are less frequent, so check your exact stop rather than assuming that buses arrive every few minutes.

2. What is the Q111 bus route?

The Q111 runs between Jamaica and Rosedale, Queens, via Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and 147th Avenue. It operates as a Rush route with limited stopping along part of Brewer Boulevard.

3. What time does the Q111 bus arrive?

Arrival depends on the stop, direction, day and traffic conditions. Use MTA Bus Time to select Q111 and your exact stop for available real-time estimates or open the official timetable for planned departures.

4. How much is the Q111 bus fare in 2026?

The standard MTA Rush bus fare is $3.00. Eligible reduced-fare customers pay $1.50. Q111 uses the local/Rush fare category, not the higher express-bus fare.

Only a limited weekday Q111 trip pattern extends toward Peninsula Boulevard/Rockaway Turnpike in the Cedarhurst area. Most trips use the normal Jamaica–Rosedale route. Confirm the headsign and special-trip timetable.

8. Does Q111 operate on weekends and holidays?

Yes. Q111 runs Saturday and Sunday, with a separate weekend timetable. Some holidays follow a Sunday or Saturday schedule, while others use reduced weekday service as shown in the MTA timetable.

9. Can wheelchair users ride the Q111?

MTA buses are accessible to wheelchair users. Riders should still check the specific stop, curb access, construction alerts and any subway elevator conditions before traveling.

10. Where can I download the Q111 bus schedule PDF?

The official PDF is available from mta.info/schedules/bus/q111. It includes the current published direction-specific timetable, timepoints, route notes and holiday instructions. Check the effective date before using saved departure times.
