HART Is More Than One Type of Bus Service
The words “HART bus schedule” can lead to different products. A local bus, Limited Express, commuter-oriented service, MetroRapid, HARTFlex and HARTPlus do not follow identical boarding, fare or reservation rules.
Local Bus
Regular fixed-route service with frequent local stops throughout the HART network.
Regular fare: $2.00 one trip.
Best for: ordinary neighborhood, work, shopping, school and transfer trips.

HART schedules are built around timepoints. A timetable may show only major transfer centers or intersections even though the bus serves many stops between them.

The timetable is the planned service. Transit App or HART’s live route information is better for the bus that is actually approaching.
Intermediate stops require care
When your stop is between two listed timepoints, use the earlier timepoint as a planning reference and verify the stop prediction.
Direction matters
Opposite directions can use different corners, bays and stop IDs even at the same intersection or transit center.
Holiday service changes the table
A Sunday service level on a holiday means you should read Sunday bus times, not the normal weekday timetable.
Express service may be commute-focused
Some express services operate primarily around morning and evening commute periods.
Arrive before the listed time
Do not walk toward the stop at the departure minute. Build in a few minutes so you are visible before the bus arrives.

Which HART Buses Serve Tampa International Airport?
HART’s current bus-services information and system map identify Routes 10, 30 and 32 as airport-serving routes. The system map places HART airport service at the Tampa International Airport Rental Car Center.

Route 10, 30 or 32 may fit depending on where you start.

Airport route frequencies and spans can change with a service markup.

The current system map identifies the Rental Car Center as the HART airport point.
4. Use SkyConnect
HART directs airport passengers to use Tampa International Airport’s SkyConnect between the terminal/baggage area and Rental Car Center when applicable.
5. Allow flight buffer time
Bus delay + airport transfer + security screening should all be included in your plan.

HART Alerts, Event Detours and Temporary Service Interruptions
Always check HART’s alert page before an important trip. HART notes that very short detours lasting less than two weeks may not be posted to the main website.

HART lists event-related detours for Routes 8 and 19 around major events at Benchmark International Arena.

What Happens to HART Bus Service During a Hurricane or Evacuation?
HART has a separate Severe Weather Service plan. When the Hillsborough County Emergency Operations Center directs HART to support an evacuation, normal operations can be replaced by special storm service.
Special meeting points
HART lists Netpark Transfer Center, Northwest Transfer Center, University Area Transit Center and Yukon Transfer Center as severe-weather meeting locations.
Fare
HART states that Severe Weather Service is free of charge.
Wind cutoff
HART says Severe Weather Service stops when sustained winds reach 35 mph or road conditions become unsafe.
Accessibility
Severe-weather buses are ADA accessible and HART states they can accommodate up to two wheelchairs.
Evacuation routes
HART also publishes lettered emergency evacuation routes and shelter-transport information.
Do not use the normal schedule
Storm schedules differ from regular route times. Check HART’s emergency page and Hillsborough County instructions.
Emergency planning is not a normal transit trip. Follow current emergency-management instructions rather than relying on an old HART timetable saved before the storm.
HARTPlus is not simply a discounted bus. It is complementary paratransit for eligible riders whose functional disability prevents them from using HART fixed-route buses permanently or under certain conditions.
