Quick answer

Sun Tran Schedules Are Route-Specific

There is no single first bus, last bus or travel time for the whole Sun Tran system. Each route has its own weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedule. The quickest way to get the correct time is to identify your route number, direction and stop, then check the official schedule or Sun Tran’s official Transit app.

1
Find route

Search by destination or route number.

2
Pick direction

Check the bus headsign and destination.

3
Choose stop

Use the stop number or intersection.

4
Check arrival

Compare scheduled and real-time information.

5
Arrive early

Sun Tran recommends at least 5 minutes.

Current fare: Sun Tran states that Sun Tran, Sun Express, Sun Link, Sun Van, Sun On Demand and Sun Shuttle rides continue to remain fare free.

Current schedule period

Sun Tran Ride Guide Effective August 16, 2026

Sun Tran’s current rider-guide page links the new Sun Tran, Sun Express and Sun Shuttle booklet effective August 16, 2026. Several local and express routes changed on that date, so older February 2026 or 2025 PDFs should not be used as the primary schedule for a current trip.

Published timetable Use the official route schedule to see scheduled timepoints for weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Real-time estimate The Transit app can show upcoming departures based on available real-time vehicle information.
Service alert Construction or temporary stop closures can override the normal stopping pattern even when the timetable itself has not changed.
Do not assume a timetable time applies to every stop. Printed schedules usually show selected timepoints. Use the app or trip planner for the closest stop to your actual boarding location.

Timing and frequency

How Often Does Sun Tran Run?

Frequency varies by route and by time of day. Sun Tran also publishes a Frequent Transit Network resource for services operating about every 20 minutes or less during designated weekday periods.

Frequent corridors Some high-ridership routes run every 20 minutes or better during major weekday periods. Route 8 was increased to roughly 15-minute service with the August 2026 changes.
Regular routes Many routes operate less frequently, especially evenings and weekends. Check your exact route instead of assuming a system-wide interval.
Sun Express Express routes can have a limited number of commuter-oriented trips and may not operate on major holidays.
Travel-time guidance: there is no meaningful single “Sun Tran ride time.” Use the official Transit app to calculate your origin-to-destination time. For an unfamiliar trip, consider adding a practical 10–15 minute buffer for walking, waiting and transfers beyond the app’s planned journey time.
