QM2 Bus Schedule: Useful Timepoints

How often does the QM2 run?

Weekday Peak Service Is Much More Frequent Than Weekends

AM peak The route profile lists roughly 14-minute average peak-direction weekday frequency.
PM peak The route profile lists roughly 18-minute average peak-direction weekday frequency.
Saturday & Sunday Service is generally hourly throughout the published weekend timetable.
Important: QM2 service is not evenly spaced during every weekday period. Around peak periods the combined QM2/QM32 timetable can also make the page look more frequent than QM2 alone. Check the route label before boarding.

Weekend Linden Hill pattern: the MTA route profile says QM2 keeps its weekend trips through Linden Hill. This is why some Queens stops may appear in Bus Time but are not used by every weekday trip.
Important timetable note

QM2 and QM32 Share the Same Timetable — but They Are Not the Same Bus

QM2 Uses the Sixth Avenue Midtown pattern. In the timetable, trips without a special route-number note are QM2 trips.
QM32 The combined PDF marks QM32 trips with “32”. QM32 uses Third Avenue in Manhattan rather than the standard QM2 Sixth Avenue pattern.
Do not board based only on departure time. During weekday commute periods, QM2 and QM32 trips can appear together. Confirm the bus route number and destination sign before boarding.
SX means super-express. The current MTA timetable also uses the notation SX for super-express service. Check the trip note because an SX trip can have a different stopping pattern.

42 St corridor The Sixth Avenue stop near W 42 St provides access to the Bryant Park / Times Square area and multiple Manhattan transit connections.
57–59 St Midtown-bound QM2 service finishes near Madison/Lexington Avenue, useful for East Midtown and nearby subway connections.
OMNY transfer tip: use exactly the same card, phone, wearable or OMNY Card for each part of the journey so the system can apply any eligible transfer automatically.

Recent QM2 Detour Notices to Check Before Traveling

Recheck before boarding

QM2 alerts are dynamic. Bus Time can change after this article is published.

Midtown eastbound detour notice Recent MTA Bus Time information listed QM2/QM20 detours around Madison Avenue near E 58–59 St because of construction. The notice said stops were not being missed, but extra turns could affect live-arrival accuracy.
Queens westbound detour notice MTA Bus Time also listed a detour between 138 St and Linden Pl related to DEP Linden Place pump-station construction.
Temporary stop information The Bus Time notice indicated the westbound 31 Rd / 138 St stop could be closed during the detour, with a temporary stop nearby on 138 St.
Do not rely on this alert snapshot for a future trip. Open MTA Bus Time or the MTA app on your actual travel day to see whether these detours remain active, have changed, or have ended.
Saturday and Sunday

QM2 Weekend Schedule

Saturday Midtown-bound departures begin at 6:40 AM from Bell Blvd / 23 Av and run approximately hourly through the evening. Queens-bound service begins at 9:10 AM from 6 Av / W 35 St and continues past midnight.
Sunday Midtown-bound departures begin at 7:40 AM. Queens-bound departures begin at 10:10 AM. Published service is approximately hourly.
Weekend route detail: MTA specifically notes that existing QM2 weekend trips continue through Linden Hill, so the Queens stopping pattern can differ from weekday trips.
