Popular Miami-Dade Metrobus Routes, Stops and Connections

Miami-Dade has many bus routes, branches and limited-stop services. The following selection covers frequently searched corridors and important destinations. Route descriptions are grounded in County route information, with later 2026 changes noted where relevant.

Biscayne Boulevard corridor

Route 3 — Aventura to Downtown Miami

Connects Aventura Mall Terminal with Downtown Miami via Biscayne Boulevard. Major connections include the Omni/Adrienne Arsht Center area and Government Center.

Service: Weekday and weekend. Travel time varies considerably with Biscayne Boulevard traffic.

For help distinguishing Miami’s Route 3 from unrelated Route 3 services elsewhere, see our Route 3 bus schedule and stop-matching guide.

Dolphin Mall / Downtown

Routes 7 and 7A — NW 7th Street

Route 7 links Dolphin Mall with Downtown Miami via NW 7th Street. Certain weekday Route 7A trips use Airport Station.

Major travel clues: Dolphin Mall, Mall of the Americas, Overtown, MDC College North and Downtown.

Important: Route 7 and 7A patterns are not necessarily identical. Confirm the specific destination shown on the bus.

Little Havana / FIU

Route 8 — SW 8th Street

Runs along SW 8th Street between the FIU/West Miami-Dade area and Brickell Station, with some weekday service extending toward SW 152nd Avenue.

Major travel areas: Brickell, Little Havana, Flagami and FIU.

This is useful when traveling along Calle Ocho. Check whether your trip runs all the way to the outer westbound endpoint.

Aventura / NE 2nd Avenue

Routes 9 and 9A — Aventura to Downtown

Connect Downtown Miami and Aventura via NE 2nd Avenue. Route 9 and 9A use different branch patterns around Miami Gardens Drive and 163rd Street.

Major destinations: Midtown, Design District, Little Haiti and Aventura Mall.

To understand why route branches and similarly numbered buses must be checked separately, read our Route 9 and 9A bus times and direction guide.

Flagler Street

Route 11 — FIU to Downtown

Connects Florida International University with Downtown Miami via Flagler Street.

Major travel areas: Sweetwater, Mall of the Americas, West Miami, Little Havana and Downtown Miami.

This corridor is useful for west-to-east trips, but traffic and stop spacing can affect travel time.

Hospital and rail connection

Route 12 — Northside to Mercy Hospital

Travels along NW/SW 12th Avenue, connecting Northside Station with Mercy Hospital.

Rail connection clues: Allapattah, Santa Clara, Civic Center and Vizcaya stations.

For details about its direction-specific timetable and variable daytime frequency, consult our Miami-Dade Route 12 service and timetable explanation.

Airport Station / Miami Beach

Route 20 — Airport Station to Miami Beach

Provides a connection between Airport Station and Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road area via locations including Jackson Hospital, Omni and Alton Road.

Published schedule example: A County adjustment describes roughly 30-minute weekday and Saturday service, with approximately 40-minute Sunday service.

Coral Way corridor

Route 24 — Coral Way Limited

Connects FIU, Coral Gables and Brickell, using Coral Way and a combination of local and limited-stop service.

Transfer clue: Brickell Station and nearby rail connections.

Check the current alignment around SW 15th Road and any shortened or limited-stop trips.

NW 27th Avenue

Routes 27 and 27A — Miami Gardens / Coconut Grove

Serve the NW 27th Avenue corridor, connecting the Miami Gardens area with Coconut Grove Station.

Major stops: MDC North, Brownsville, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Station and Coconut Grove.

Some departure patterns vary by time and direction, so check the full 27/27A schedule.

2026 alignment update

Route 32 — Miami Gardens / Omni

Connects northern Miami-Dade neighborhoods toward the Omni transit area through Opa-locka, Northside and other transfer points.

Important: A newer service adjustment extended Route 32 south to Omni Terminal and removed service to Earlington Heights Station. Older route-directory descriptions may still show the former endpoint.

NW 7th Avenue

Route 77 — Miami Gardens to Downtown

Serves the NW 7th Avenue corridor, connecting Miami Gardens with Downtown Miami.

Major stops: Golden Glades Park & Ride, NW 7th Avenue Transit Village, Culmer and Government Center.

Check the correct destination sign and whether your departure continues to the desired downtown stop.

Miami Beach coastal corridor

Route 100 — Downtown to Aventura via Miami Beach

Links Downtown Miami with Aventura Mall, serving Miami Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Haulover and Sunny Isles Beach.

Useful for: Beach destinations and travel between the coastal communities without driving.

The entire journey can be lengthy. For short trips, use the exact starting and ending stops in the trip planner.

Airport Express

Route 150 — MIA Airport to Miami Beach

Operates from Miami International Airport’s transit station to Miami Beach via the Julia Tuttle Causeway.

Major destinations: 41st Street, Alton Road, Lincoln Road, Washington Avenue and South Beach.

This is an important option for airport travelers. Check the exact boarding point at Airport Station rather than waiting at the passenger terminal curb.

South Dade rapid service

Route 601 — Metro Express

Provides rapid transit service along the South Dade TransitWay corridor between SW 344th Street and Dadeland South Station.

2026 update: Weekday northbound service begins as early as 4:00 AM at the SW 344th Street terminal under the published April 2026 adjustment.

Peak headways can be much shorter than those of ordinary local buses, but vary with direction and time.

South Dade local service

Route 602 — TransitWay Local

Serves the South Dade TransitWay with local-stop connections and overnight service described in the 2026 network adjustments.

2026 update: Rush-hour frequency in the specified commute directions changed from about 10 minutes to about 15 minutes. Overnight hourly service remains part of the published pattern.

More routes: Miami-Dade also operates services including Routes 2, 14, 15, 22, 26, 36/36A, 37, 56, 87, 88, 95, 110, 203, 211, 301, 302, 400, 401, 836 and others. For a route not listed above, open the official directory rather than using another city’s bus schedule.
Timetables and service frequency

Miami-Dade Bus Times: First Bus, Last Bus, Weekends and Frequency

Metrobus is not one route with a single opening or closing time. Some routes start before 5:00 AM, some have late-night service and others operate only during commuter periods. Always match the route, direction, stop and travel date.

Published 2026 Schedule Examples

The examples below come from Miami-Dade County’s service-adjustment notices. They show how weekday and weekend patterns differ. They are not a complete timetable and must not be used as predictions for intermediate stops.

Route Day / Direction Published detail Rider interpretation
12 Weekday southbound Approximately every 35 minutes from 6:55 AM to 6:28 PM under the published adjustment. Evening departures change to an approximately hourly pattern.
20 Weekday / Saturday Approximately every 30 minutes in the published service period. Sunday service follows a different interval.
20 Sunday Approximately every 40 minutes in the published adjustment. Check the exact stop for the next trip.
601 Weekday northbound First trips from SW 344th Street terminal begin at 4:00 AM; peak-period service can be approximately every 7½ minutes. Peak headways do not apply throughout the day.
601 Weekday southbound July 2026 adjustment places the roughly 7½-minute afternoon peak between 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM from Dadeland South. Other periods have different intervals.
602 Weekday commute Approximately every 15 minutes in specified peak directions after the July 2026 adjustment. Use the appropriate northbound or southbound timetable.
602 Weekday late evening southbound Departures from Dadeland South approximately every 30 minutes from 10:15 PM through 11:45 PM. Overnight service follows a different hourly pattern.
836 Express Weekday eastbound A 7:30 AM departure from Dolphin Station was added in July 2026. This is a weekday express trip, not an all-day frequency.

Sources: Miami-Dade Metrobus service adjustments, April 27, 2026 changes, and July 20, 2026 changes. Check the current route schedule for any later updates.

Important timepoint rule: A departure from Dadeland South, Aventura Mall, Government Center or Airport Station does not mean the bus reaches every stop at that time. Use the stop-level timetable or Metrobus Tracker for your actual boarding location.
Weekday trips

Some routes operate more often in commuter periods and less often in the evening.

Saturday and Sunday

Weekend frequency, first departures and last departures may change independently.

Overnight service

Only specified routes and trip patterns operate overnight. Do not assume a regular daytime bus runs all night.

How to Read Metrobus Timetables and Stop Directions

Most schedules display selected major timepoints rather than every roadside stop. Identify your direction and locate a timepoint near your starting stop, then use an official stop-level arrival tool for more accurate guidance.

Board Timepoint Transfer Stop Destination
Match the headsign

Check the final destination, especially on routes with A/B branches or short-turn trips.

Find the actual stop

The bus running in the opposite direction may stop across the road or at another bay.

Allow time for transfers

Plan walking, fare validation and waiting separately from in-vehicle travel time.

Recommended arrival: Be at your boarding stop about 5–10 minutes before the scheduled departure. Use a larger buffer for airport journeys, infrequent service, late-night trips or unfamiliar terminals.

How Miami-Dade Metrobus Transfers Work

Miami-Dade provides free Metrobus-to-Metrobus transfers during the first three hours after the initial tap when you pay using eligible contactless payment, EASY Card or EASY Ticket. The County also publishes free eligible bus-to-rail and rail-to-bus transfers.

1 Choose payment Use an accepted fare card, mobile pass or contactless payment.
2 Tap on boarding Present the same eligible payment method at the fare reader.
3h Transfer window Complete eligible connections within the published three-hour window.
4 Tap again Use the same payment method for transfer eligibility.
Cash fare warning: Passengers paying cash must pay the full fare again when transferring. Cash does not receive the electronic three-hour transfer benefit.
Contactless payment tip: Use the same physical bank card, phone or wearable throughout your journey. Switching between a plastic card and the same card inside a phone wallet may cause the fare system to treat the taps differently.

For transfers to inter-county express buses, different charges can apply. Miami-Dade lists a regular bus-to-express transfer charge of $0.95 and a qualifying discounted charge of $0.45.

Miami International Airport transportation

Miami-Dade Bus Routes to Miami International Airport (MIA)

Airport travelers can connect to Metrobus services through the Miami Intermodal Center / Miami International Airport transit station. The correct route depends on whether your destination is Miami Beach, Downtown, Doral or another part of Miami-Dade County.

Route 150 Airport Express

Connects Airport Station with Miami Beach, using the Julia Tuttle Causeway and stops along the Miami Beach corridor.

Route 110 / J

Connects the Airport Station area with destinations along NW 36th Street, Allapattah and Miami Beach.

Other airport links

Routes such as 7A, 36/36A and other services may connect through Airport Station. Check the active route directory.

How to Board Metrobus at MIA

1 Leave your flight Follow airport signs for ground transportation and the MIA transit connection.
2 Reach Airport Station Follow the designated connection to the Miami Intermodal Center.
3 Find the route Check the correct stop and destination sign at the station’s ground level.
4 Check arrival Confirm scheduled/live service and allow time for baggage and transfers.
Airport boarding orientation: Miami-Dade states that Metrobus stops at MIA Metrorail Station are on the ground level, with buses dropping off on the east side and picking up on the west side. Verify signage and any temporary changes.
Route 150 change: The County’s airport route information states that Route 150 no longer stops at Earlington Heights Metrorail Station. Do not use an older map showing that connection.

For flights, allow sufficient time for bus delays, station transfers, airline check-in and security. An airport bus’s scheduled arrival at Airport Station is not the same as reaching your airline’s check-in counter.

Beach destination finder

Miami-Dade Buses to South Beach, Mid-Beach and Aventura

Visitors frequently search for a bus from Miami Airport or Downtown to Miami Beach. The best route depends on whether you need South Beach, Mid-Beach, North Beach, Surfside, Bal Harbour or Aventura.

Airport to Miami Beach

Check Route 150 Airport Express first, then confirm your exact beach destination and stop.

Downtown to Aventura via beach

Route 100 provides a coastal corridor through Miami Beach and northern beach communities.

Airport Station to Lincoln Road

Route 20 provides another connection pattern, using Alton Road and Omni-area stops.

Miami Beach Trolleys Are Not All Metrobus Routes

Miami Beach operates local trolley services separately from Miami-Dade County’s Metrobus network. A free trolley journey may require walking to a different stop or transferring from Metrobus. Confirm the trolley’s own operating hours and route map instead of assuming it follows the County’s Metrobus timetable.

Beach rider tip: Even when a bus route passes through Miami Beach, it may not stop closest to your hotel. Compare the last walking segment and the correct side of Collins Avenue, Washington Avenue or Alton Road.
South Dade rapid bus services

Metro Express 601 and TransitWay Local 602

South Dade TransitWay services link southern Miami-Dade communities with Dadeland South Metrorail Station. These services have distinct stopping patterns, peak frequencies and late-night schedules.

Route 601 — Metro Express Express

Rapid service along the South Dade TransitWay, connecting the SW 344th Street terminal area with Dadeland South.

2026 schedules include periods with approximately 7½-minute peak headways in specified commute directions.

Route 602 — TransitWay Local Local

Serves local TransitWay stops, with published peak, evening and overnight service patterns.

July 2026 weekday adjustments include approximately 15-minute rush-hour service in specified directions and a separate late-night schedule.

2026 Service Changes You Should Know

RoutePublished changeWhy it matters
601Weekday northbound service begins at 4:00 AM from SW 344th Street under the April 2026 update.Early departures vary by terminal and direction.
601Afternoon southbound peak headways of approximately 7½ minutes begin at 3:30 PM in the July 2026 update. The shorter interval is not all-day service.
602Specified weekday peak-direction frequency adjusted to roughly 15 minutes.Older 10-minute schedule expectations may be wrong.
602Late-evening southbound departures approximately every 30 minutes from 10:15 PM through 11:45 PM.Use the correct stop and overnight table.
Express versus local: Do not assume that an express bus serves every TransitWay station. Check the stop list and route type before boarding, especially when transferring at an intermediate station.

Miami-Dade Metrobus System Map and Major Transit Hubs

The County’s April 2026 Metrobus system map is a useful network overview. It illustrates routes, major stations, transit connections and typical weekday midday frequency categories. Individual route maps provide more precise stop detail.

Government Center

Downtown connection point for Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover services.

Airport Station

Transit hub for MIA airport-area connections and several Metrobus routes.

Dadeland South

Important transfer between Metrorail and South Dade TransitWay services.

Aventura Mall

Major bus terminal connecting routes serving Aventura and surrounding corridors.

Example Map: Government Center, Downtown Miami

Government Center is shown here as an example downtown transit hub. The map is for locating the area, not showing every Metrobus route or live vehicle position.

Finding a particular bus stop: Google Maps can show walking directions, stop details and transit itineraries, but some displayed times may be scheduled rather than live. For a step-by-step explanation, read our Google Maps bus routes, stops and live-arrival tutorial. Confirm the final boarding location with Miami-Dade Transit.
Metrobus live tools

How to Track a Miami-Dade Bus in Real Time

Scheduled time is the departure printed in the official timetable. Live arrival is a same-day estimate derived from vehicle and operating data when available. Miami-Dade’s official Metrobus Tracker lets riders choose a route, travel direction and stop to view an estimated bus arrival.

1
Open Tracker

Use Miami-Dade’s official Metrobus tracking page.

2
Find route

Search your route number and any letter variant.

3
Choose direction

Match the destination or directional headsign.

4
Select stop

Confirm the physical bus stop or stop identifier.

5
Recheck ETA

Compare the prediction with current service alerts.

Tracker limitation: A real-time prediction may change because of traffic, detours, cancellations, vehicle reassignment or GPS/data issues. If no live prediction appears, compare the official timetable and service notifications rather than assuming the bus is not running.
Phone apps and mobile fares

GO Miami-Dade Transit App, Mobile Tickets and Contactless Payment

The GO Miami-Dade Transit app is the County’s official mobile application. It offers transit trip planning, real-time bus/train/mover information and supported mobile ticket options.

Real-time vehicle tracking

View estimated arrivals and, when supported, reported vehicle positions.

Trip planning

Compare routes, connections, stops and transit options for your destination.

Mobile ticketing

Purchase supported transit tickets and understand activation and expiration rules.

Mobile ticket caution: Miami-Dade states that supported one-way mobile passes activate immediately after purchase and expire three hours after activation. Do not purchase too far ahead of travel without checking the product’s rules.
Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover

How Miami-Dade Bus Transfers Connect With Rail

Miami-Dade’s network integrates Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover. The best transfer location depends on the route and destination. Transfers between Metrobus and Metrorail can be free under eligible electronic-payment rules.

Metrobus $2.25

Standard regular local bus fare.

Metrorail $2.25

Standard regular rail fare; electronic transfer rules may reduce the added cost.

Metromover Free

Fare-free people-mover system in downtown and nearby districts.

On-demand transit

MetroConnect 2026: On-Demand Rides, Fares and Service Zones

MetroConnect provides shared, on-demand transportation within designated Miami-Dade service zones. It is not the same as a scheduled Metrobus route and no longer operates as a universally free service.

Standard trip $3.75

Per passenger for an ordinary eligible MetroConnect ride.

Eligible transit-hub trip $1.50

Discounted fare when a trip starts or ends at a designated qualifying transit hub.

Service days Mon–Fri

No regular weekend service under the February 2026 change.

Operating hours 6:30–7

6:30 AM–7:00 PM on regular operating weekdays.

October 2026 update: MetroConnect’s official site states that the South Miami zone stopped operating October 1, 2026. Other service zones continue under their applicable operating rules. Always check the live zone map before booking.

MetroConnect trips generally must begin and end inside the same eligible service zone. Pickups and drop-offs use suitable nearby curb locations, which means this is not automatically door-to-door service.

Accessible transit and paratransit

Metrobus Accessibility, Bicycle Racks and Special Transportation Service

Miami-Dade publishes accessible transit information for Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover. Metrobus vehicles also have front-mounted bicycle racks, although capacity and proper use should be checked before boarding.

Accessible vehicles

Check ramp or lift access, priority seating, wheelchair securement and any specific boarding requirements.

Stop accessibility

Sidewalks, curbs, construction detours and temporary stops can affect accessibility even when the vehicle is accessible.

Special Transportation Service

STS provides separate ADA paratransit service for eligible riders who cannot use regular fixed-route transit.

Service changes and disruptions

Miami-Dade Metrobus Service Alerts and Schedule Changes

Road construction, large events, accidents, floods, severe weather, vehicle availability and network redesigns can affect Metrobus arrival times, stop locations and route patterns.

The bus may use a different street or temporary boarding location.

Cancellation

A planned trip may not operate; check the next available service.
