Quick answer

Where Can You Find the Current Anchorage Bus Schedule?

The official Anchorage bus timetable is published by People Mover on the Municipality of Anchorage website. The current schedule brochure is effective May 11, 2026 and provides route numbers, stop IDs, directional departure times, approximate service frequency, fare information, and a system map.

Already know your bus number? Open the official schedules and route maps, then select the route, direction, and service day.
Need the next bus? Open People Mover BusTracker, find your stop, and check the predicted arrival before walking out.
Important: Do not confuse a scheduled departure with a live prediction. Also, People Mover is Anchorage’s municipal bus network; intercity coaches, airport hotel shuttles, railroad services, and private tours operate under separate schedules.

Service frequency explained

How Often Do Anchorage People Mover Buses Run?

Anchorage does not have one uniform bus frequency. The official May 2026 brochure divides routes into several service patterns.

Frequent service
~15 minCore periods

Routes 10, 20, 30 and the combined 40/65 airport corridor during the frequent-service period.

Standard service
~30 minCore periods

Routes including 25, 35, 55, 65, and several local/loop services.

Lower-frequency service
~60 minSelected routes

Route 11 and Route 85 are examples of hourly-pattern service.

Commuter service
LimitedWeekday trips

Route 92 operates selected morning and afternoon/evening commuter trips rather than a frequent all-day schedule.

Why headways matter: A route described as “every 15 minutes” may run every 30 or 60 minutes late in the evening or during weekends. Combined frequency on Routes 40 and 65 also does not mean each individual route runs every 15 minutes.

Airport boarding advice: Confirm the designated People Mover stop at the South Terminal before boarding, especially if arriving at a different terminal or carrying luggage. Stop #3024 identifies the South Terminal timepoint in the May 2026 schedule; the opposite-direction stop may have a different code.

For flights: add time for walking to the airport stop, terminal navigation, check-in, baggage and security. Never plan to arrive at the terminal exactly at your flight’s required check-in time.

Commuter service

Anchorage to Eagle River Bus Schedule — Route 92

People Mover Route 92 is a commuter-oriented bus connecting Anchorage and Eagle River. The May 2026 timetable lists weekday morning and afternoon/evening departures rather than frequent all-day trips.

Eagle River to Downtown Anchorage

Example: depart Eagle River Transit Center #1863 at 5:47 AM; arrive Downtown #2051 at 6:18 AM.

The route also serves the VFW Road parking area and VA Clinic corridor.

Check the exact commuter trip you need, especially for return travel.

Do not confuse Route 92 services: Anchorage People Mover Route 92 serves Eagle River. Other cities also use Route 92 for unrelated buses. Our Route 92 number-comparison guide helps explain that distinction, but the official Anchorage People Mover timetable is the authority for Eagle River trips.

Anchorage-specific service conditions

Winter, Holiday, Roadwork and Service Alerts

Anchorage travel requires extra attention to weather. Heavy snow, icy roads, road closures, construction and special events can affect the location and timing of bus stops. People Mover also has winter routing considerations, including published Route 31 detour mapping.

Snow and ice

Road conditions can delay buses or affect access to stops.

Route 31 detour

Check the current Northeast/Mountain View routing and winter-related changes.

Holiday service

People Mover states that bus and AnchorRIDES services do not operate on some holidays.

Construction and events

Temporary closures may change boarding locations or stop availability.

Volcanic Ash and Emergency Disruptions

Anchorage has an additional regional hazard: volcanic ash. People Mover’s official preparedness guidance states that buses will not run while ash is falling to protect vehicle engines, and the length of suspension depends on conditions.

Do not assume service is normal: Check the agency’s current alerts on the travel day. This article does not display a live operational status and cannot confirm that your selected trip will operate during a disruption.

Downtown to Providence / UAA Area

Downtown to the VA Clinic

Check Route 25 and the current direction-specific schedule. Route 92 also includes a VA Clinic timepoint, but it follows commuter-service constraints.

Downtown to Eagle River

Check Route 92’s limited weekday trips, particularly the return schedule. Do not assume frequent weekend service.

Route 65 connects the Dimond area with Jewel Lake and the Airport South Terminal. Check the correct inbound timetable.

Midtown to Downtown

Several routes serve different Midtown corridors. Use your nearest actual intersection instead of guessing based on “Midtown.”
