Find routes by destination

Which TARTA Route Goes to Your Destination?

If you know where you want to go but not the route number, use the destination guide below. Because different route names can share a destination, confirm the exact stop and path using TARTA’s Trip Planner.

Franklin Park Mall

Start by checking Routes 03, 17, 19 and 22, plus any other connections returned by the trip planner.

Route 03 connects with UTMC, while Routes 17, 19 and 22 use different corridors toward the mall.

University of Toledo Medical Center

Check Routes 03 and 33. Their paths and transfer points differ, so choose your origin before deciding which is better.

Walmart on Central Avenue

Check Routes 05 and 27. Route 05 uses Dorr Street; Route 27 uses Nebraska and Reynolds.

Meijer on Alexis Road

Check Routes 15, 16 and 18. The Summit, Manhattan and Franklin/Alexis corridors serve different parts of Toledo.

Amazon Rossford

Start with Route 10. Check current Glenwood and Oak roadwork alerts before boarding.

Hollywood Casino

Check Route 12 for the fixed-route connection via Front and East Broadway.

TARTA Flex access to the casino has additional eligibility restrictions.

Maumee

Check Route 31 for the Broadway, Glendale and Indian Wood Circle corridor.

Spring Meadows / Holland

Check Route 32 or applicable TARTA Flex coverage for your specific destination.

Toledo Express Airport

Check TARTA Flex eligibility and booking availability for the airport area. Do not assume a regular fixed-route bus directly serves the terminal.

Best method for finding a bus to work, shopping or a hospital Open the TARTA Trip Planner, enter your exact origin and destination, then choose whether you want to depart at a certain time or arrive before an appointment.

TARTA Bus Times: Weekday Departure Examples

TARTA publishes real route-specific timetable data. The examples below come from official TARTA route pages and keep the timepoints from each trip together, so you can see how long a selected trip takes.

Route 05 — Walmart Central to Downtown Toledo

The current Route 05 page lists regular inbound trips from Walmart on Central Avenue, via Dorr Street, toward the downtown Transit Hub.

Walmart Central Dorr & Reynolds Dorr & Towerview Dorr & Hawley Transit Hub Ride time
6:11 AM 6:18 AM 6:27 AM 6:37 AM 6:45 AM 34 minutes

Route 05 weekday frequency The published current inbound timetable shows 30-minute departures during the main daytime period, then 90-minute spacing after the evening service transition. Confirm the exact time for your direction and stop.

Route 03 — UTMC to Franklin Park Mall

Route 03 runs between the University of Toledo Medical Center and Franklin Park Mall through UT-related and Secor-area timepoints.

UT Medical Center Brookview East UT Transit Center Secor & Central Mall layover
6:15 AM 6:23 AM 6:38 AM 6:44 AM 6:55 AM

Franklin Park Mall layover is not a boarding stop. The Route 03 schedule labels its final mall timepoint as “FPM Layover No Pickup.” That is an operating timepoint, not permission to board at the bus layover location. Find the correct passenger stop on the official interactive map.

Route 31 — Maumee to Downtown

Route 31 serves the Maumee area through Southwyck, Glendale and Broadway to downtown Toledo. The following selected weekday inbound trips are from the current TARTA timetable.

Meijer Maumee Southwyck & Reynolds Glendale & Southland Broadway & Knower Transit Hub

How to use these schedule examples Each row represents one bus trip. Find the time at your boarding timepoint, then look across the same row to estimate when that trip is scheduled to reach your destination. Never mix times from two different rows.
Frequency explained visually

How Often Do TARTA Buses Run?

TARTA’s 2026 lineup guidance describes 30-, 60- and 90-minute intervals across different routes and service periods. The exact interval depends on the specific route, direction, weekday or weekend, and time of day.

30-minute service 2 per hour
60-minute service 1 per hour
90-minute service Less frequent

These bars compare scheduled waiting intervals, not the measured reliability or travel time of particular routes.

Frequent peak service

Routes such as 03, 10, 20 and 31 have 30-minute frequency improvements during selected weekday periods following the January 2026 redesign.

Hourly service

Several routes operate hourly during parts of the day. Always check the timetable because an hourly pattern may change after evening hours.

Evening and weekend service

Some weekday routes switch to 90-minute intervals in the evening. Weekend schedules can be different or unavailable on a given route.

Frequency is not the same as first or last bus time. A route running every 30 minutes at midday does not necessarily start at 6 AM or run until 10 PM. Use the official first and last departure at your exact stop and direction.

TARTA Bus Operating Hours: Weekdays, Saturday, Sunday & Holidays

TARTA has several different operating-hour categories. The downtown lineup schedule, Transit Hub public-counter hours, individual fixed-route trips, TARTA Flex and TARTA Move should not be confused with one another.

Downtown Transit Hub Lineup Hours

Day Published lineup window Meaning
Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–10:30 PM Downtown route lineup schedule; individual trips vary.
Saturday 7:30 AM–9:00 PM Saturday lineup schedule.
Sunday and holidays 7:30 AM–7:30 PM Sunday/holiday lineup schedule, subject to the holiday calendar.

Saturday

8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Sunday / published holidays

Difference between bus service and customer service A bus can be scheduled outside the Transit Hub’s public office hours. Likewise, an open Hub office does not mean every fixed-route bus is operating at that moment.

TARTA 2026 Holiday Schedule

TARTA publishes a holiday observance calendar for fixed-route service, TARTA Flex, paratransit and customer-service hours. Holidays may use a Sunday-like schedule, but individual exceptions apply.

2026 holiday Date Published fixed-route/paratransit service span
Thanksgiving Day November 26, 2026 6:30 AM–8:21 PM
Christmas Day December 25, 2026 6:30 AM–8:21 PM

How TARTA Fare Capping Works

TARTA offers account-based fare capping for eligible fixed-route payments through the TARTA Card or Tap & Ride using supported EZFare/Transit App arrangements.

Weekly cap

$15.00

The adult fixed-route cap over the applicable weekly fare period.

31-day cap

$45.00

The adult fixed-route cap over the applicable 31-day fare period.

Important fare-capping rule Keep using the same eligible payment method or linked account. TARTA says ordinary ticket and pass purchases do not automatically count toward fare capping. TARTA Flex and TARTA Move are excluded from fixed-route fare capping.

Transfer and payment micro-guide

How TARTA Bus Transfers Work

For qualifying regular fixed-route trips, TARTA provides transfer tickets that may be used within two hours of the original paid fare. TARTA Flex has its own transfer procedure.

Typical Fixed-Route Transfer Process
1Board first bus
2Pay $1.50
3Request transfer
4Change buses
5Use within 2 hours

Transferring Between Fixed Route and TARTA Flex

Flex to Fixed-Route Bus

A TARTA Flex passenger paying the $3 one-way fare can transfer to a fixed-route bus without another fixed-route fare, following TARTA’s transfer procedure.

Fixed-Route Bus to Flex

TARTA’s published cash example instructs passengers to pay $1.50 on a regular bus, request a paper transfer and pay an additional $1.50 on Flex.

Flex reservations must be made in advance; the transfer itself does not automatically book the ride.

Transfer fare does not always mean one ticket covers every service. Another Flex zone can add an extra fare. Different payment methods can also require different validation steps, so check the official Flex transfer instructions before travelling.

Step-by-step travel guide

How to Find and Ride the Correct TARTA Bus

If you are new to TARTA or travelling to an unfamiliar destination in Toledo, follow these steps to avoid common mistakes.

Choose your destination Enter your destination in TARTA’s Trip Planner or identify it in the current route directory.
Find the route number Check whether you need Route 02, 05, 16, 31 or another service. Do not rely on obsolete route letters.
Select your day and direction Choose weekday, Saturday, Sunday or holiday and make sure the vehicle is travelling toward your destination.
Check the exact stop and timepoint Use the route map to locate the correct stop or downtown lineup. Do not treat a bus layover as a boarding stop.
Confirm fare or pass eligibility Prepare your ticket, TARTA Card, EZFare pass or applicable reduced-fare entitlement.
Look for current service alerts Check whether downtown sidewalk construction, roadwork or another detour affects your route.
Arrive before the scheduled departure A useful planning buffer is 5–10 minutes at a familiar stop and more time at a complex or temporary lineup.
Verify the bus headsign and return plan Confirm the destination before boarding and check the last bus from your return stop.
Detours, delays and service notices

How to Check TARTA Bus Delays and Detours

TARTA publishes route-specific detours, temporary stop closures, construction warnings and operating changes. A valid scheduled time does not guarantee that the bus will arrive at that minute.

Downtown construction

The temporary Superior Street boarding arrangement affects multiple Hub routes during the 2026 sidewalk project.

Roadwork detours

A route may use another street or stop temporarily, even when its published regular timetable remains unchanged.

Accessible boarding

TARTA states it does not pick up or drop off in designated construction zones or bus stops with traffic cones in the road.

Weather or special events

Snow, extreme heat, road closures, festivals and other events can affect service and connections.

Same-day warning This article is not connected to TARTA’s dispatch system and does not continuously monitor route status. Open the official alerts page before travel to confirm whether your intended trip or stop is affected.

Common TARTA Schedule Problems and Solutions

The route number is missing

Check whether an older route number or suffix was eliminated during the January 2026 redesign.

The bus has no live prediction

Look at the current timetable and alerts. Missing live data does not necessarily mean the scheduled trip was cancelled.

I cannot find my bus at the Hub

Check the temporary Superior Street lineup and the current map for the correct boarding location.

The bus goes to the wrong destination

Confirm the direction, terminal, headsign and any route-specific variations.

I need transport outside a fixed-route corridor

Check TARTA Flex service zones and booking eligibility instead of assuming a fixed-route stop exists nearby.

I need an accessible trip

Confirm whether a fixed-route vehicle and boarding stop meet your needs, or contact TARTA Move for paratransit eligibility information.

Accessibility and rider assistance

TARTA Accessibility, Reduced Fares and Travel Training

TARTA offers several options for passengers with mobility, vision, accessibility or trip-planning needs.

Reduced fare entitlement

Eligible seniors, veterans and active-duty military riders can receive published reduced fares with the required entitlement.

Eligible riders can apply for paratransit service and use their qualifying ID for free fixed-route transportation.

Travel training

TARTA’s Mobility Management team can help individuals and groups learn how to read schedules, transfer routes and ride public transportation.

Best Way to Use the TARTA Bus Schedule

Start with the official current route directory and choose the bus that serves your destination. Use its correct weekday, Saturday, Sunday or holiday timetable, then check the exact stop, direction and any required transfer.

For travel through downtown Toledo, check the TARTA Transit Hub lineup and the temporary 2026 Superior Street boarding arrangement where applicable. Prepare the correct fare or pass, and use TARTA’s real-time rider hub shortly before leaving.

Remember: a published departure is a scheduled time, not a guarantee of a live or on-time bus. For urgent trips and unfamiliar stops, allow extra time and check the operator’s current alerts.
