Route 32 in Buffalo is Amherst. San Antonio calls Route 32 Steves. Houston calls it Renwick. Atlanta uses Bouldercrest Road.
Identify the agency
Look for NFTA-Metro, SEPTA, Metro Transit, Valley Metro, VIA, Houston METRO, MARTA or RIPTA.
Match the destination
A destination sign or transit-center name is safer than relying only on northbound, southbound, inbound or outbound.
Check the date

Route 32 operates between Black Rock Riverside Transit Hub and Thruway Plaza Transit Center through the Amherst Street, Kensington and Union corridors, with Walden Galleria and Amherst Station among the major points.
The current NFTA schedule marks some trips with an “A” notation meaning they do not serve Buffalo State. NFTA also introduced the 32A variant beginning June 21, 2026.
Use the direction selector on SEPTA’s current timetable rather than assuming every Route 32 trip follows the same timing through Center City and Northwest Philadelphia.
Metro Transit Route 32 — Minneapolis–Saint Paul Area
Route 32 follows the Lowry Avenue corridor between Robbinsdale and the Rosedale area, linking North Minneapolis, Northeast Minneapolis and Roseville-area destinations.
As of the August 2026 review, Metro Transit’s alert system lists Route 32 among routes using a temporary Rosedale boarding platform because of transit-center construction. Check the live alert before relying on an older gate number.
Phoenix Route 32 is the 32nd Street local bus corridor. Valley Metro also identifies a separate 32s school-trip service.

Do not use a 32s school-trip entry as though it were a normal Route 32 departure. Valley Metro lists school routes separately in its maps and schedules system.
VIA Route 32 Steves travels between downtown San Antonio and the Brooks / Southeast San Antonio corridor through Steves Avenue, Pecan Valley and Pickwell-area timepoints.

MARTA identifies Route 32 as Bouldercrest Road. Atlanta’s bus network changed substantially with the NextGen Bus Network rollout in 2026, so older third-party maps should not be treated as current.

NFTA: “A” means Buffalo State is skipped
The current Buffalo PDF says “A: Does not serve Buffalo State.” NFTA’s current route alert also distinguishes Route 32A from regular Route 32.
If Buffalo State is your destination, confirm that the trip is a regular 32 rather than one of the trips using the variant.
L
VIA: “L” means late-night lineup operation
VIA’s PDF says many buses line up together downtown at 10:30 p.m., 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
For the Route 32 corridor, the late-night lineup can be handled by Route 232, which leaves downtown on Route 32 and returns downtown on Route 34.
MA
RIPTA: Massachusetts has a special boarding restriction
The Route 32 PDF says that when RIPTA operates in Massachusetts, passengers may be picked up or dropped off only at the Seekonk Square bus stop.
Do not assume every point along the Massachusetts portion functions as a normal local RIPTA stop.
Another VIA detail worth knowing: when its schedule shows a pair such as “7:05 / 7:16,” the bus is scheduled to arrive at a major transfer point first and depart later. The waiting time is deliberate and can help protect connections.
Through-service detail: VIA’s official map notes that a Route 32 bus can continue as Route 96 on selected trips. Ask the operator or confirm the destination display before staying onboard beyond the Route 32 segment.

How to Read Route 32 Stops Without Boarding in the Wrong Direction
Start with the route operator.
A stop labeled 32 in Houston is unrelated to a Route 32 stop in San Antonio, even though both are in Texas.
Match the destination on the bus.
Destination signs can be more reliable than a simple compass direction when a route bends, loops or has branches.
Find the exact stop or timepoint.
A printed timetable normally shows selected major timepoints rather than every curbside stop.

Three Very Different Route 32 Trip Situations
Frequent Houston trip
Route 32 Renwick runs every 15 minutes for most operating hours. A missed bus is inconvenient, but the normal scheduled gap is comparatively short.
VIA late-night trip
San Antonio riders must understand the late-night lineup notation and may encounter Route 232 providing the Route 32 corridor during lineup periods.
RIPTA weekday trip
An 80-minute scheduled interval means arriving at the wrong stop or missing one departure can materially change the trip. There is no normal Saturday, Sunday or holiday Route 32 service in the current PDF.
When reporting a problem: provide Route 32, city, direction, stop ID, date, approximate time and vehicle number when visible. “The 32 was late” is usually not enough information for an agency to investigate.
