Route Q77 Bus Schedule: Times, Stops & Map
The Q77 connects Jamaica Bus Terminal with Farmers Boulevard/Rockaway Boulevard in Springfield Gardens, traveling through Hollis, St. Albans and southeast Queens. It uses Hillside Avenue, Francis Lewis Boulevard, Springfield Boulevard and 147th Avenue.
The Q77 operates on weekdays and weekends, but not overnight. The June 29, 2025 Queens Bus Network Redesign extended the southern end of the route and changed several stops, making older Q77 maps unreliable for some journeys.
Below you’ll find the first and last buses in each direction, scheduled departure examples, frequency, major stops, the $3 local fare, connections, accessibility information and a practical guide to checking live arrivals.

Q77 Weekday, Saturday & Sunday Service Hours
The following departure windows are taken from published Q77 schedule data for the current post-redesign route. They describe terminal departures, not every intermediate stop. Special schedules and operational changes can affect individual days.
| Service day | Direction | First departure | Last departure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday–Friday | Springfield Gardens → Jamaica | 5:30 AM | 8:57 PM |
| Monday–Friday | Jamaica → Springfield Gardens | 6:15 AM | 9:54 PM |
| Saturday | Springfield Gardens → Jamaica | 6:15 AM | 8:45 PM |
| Saturday | Jamaica → Springfield Gardens | 7:00 AM | 9:00 PM |
| Sunday | Springfield Gardens → Jamaica | 6:55 AM | 10:25 PM |
| Sunday | Jamaica → Springfield Gardens | 7:00 AM | 10:00 PM |
Does the Q77 Operate Overnight?
No. There is a substantial gap between the final evening departures and the first departures the following morning. If you work a late shift or expect to return after service ends, plan a different bus or subway connection before setting out.
For broader guidance on checking the last bus, route suffixes and NYC transfer rules, the MTA bus schedule and live-arrival guide explains the official route and stop-lookup process across New York City.
Q77 Weekday Morning Bus Departures
These examples show the beginning of weekday service from the two terminal locations in published Q77 schedule data. They are not a replacement for the complete timetable, and they should be rechecked on the day of travel.

|---|---|
| 5:30 AM | Jamaica Bus Terminal |
| 5:40 AM | Jamaica Bus Terminal |
| 5:50 AM | Jamaica Bus Terminal |
| 6:00 AM | Jamaica Bus Terminal |
| 6:10 AM | Jamaica Bus Terminal |
| Departure from 168th St | Direction |
|---|---|
| 6:15 AM | Rockaway Boulevard |
| 6:30 AM | Rockaway Boulevard |
| 6:40 AM | Rockaway Boulevard |
| 6:50 AM | Rockaway Boulevard |
| 7:00 AM | Rockaway Boulevard |
How Long Does the Q77 Take End to End?
Recent scheduled end-to-end trips are commonly around 45–55 minutes between the two terminals. Early morning trips can be shorter, while peak traffic, school travel, construction and longer boarding times can affect the journey.
How Often Does the Q77 Bus Come?
The MTA redesign plan published average Q77 frequency by time of day. These figures describe planned service in the peak direction and help explain why waiting time varies.
| Time period | Weekday | Saturday | Sunday |
|---|---|---|---|
| Morning peak, 6–9 AM | 8 min | 26 min | 36 min |
| Midday, 9 AM–3 PM | 11 min | 20 min | 30 min |
| Afternoon peak, 3–7 PM | 8 min | 20 min | 30 min |
| Evening, 7–9 PM | 13 min | 24 min | 30 min |
Visual: Planned Midday Waiting Interval
The figures are average planned headways from the 2025 redesign plan, not live predictions or guaranteed intervals in the 2026 timetable. Longer bars mean longer typical intervals.
Q77 Bus Stops: Jamaica, Hollis, St. Albans & Springfield Gardens
The Q77 runs north and south through several important southeast Queens corridors. The following schematic explains the main journey from Jamaica toward Springfield Gardens.
Schematic only; it does not represent geographic distance or every active stop.
Selected Stops Toward Jamaica Bus Terminal
| Stop or intersection | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Farmers Blvd / Rockaway Blvd | Southern terminal and Q6 connection area |
| 147 Av / Guy R Brewer Blvd | Connections toward Guy R. Brewer Boulevard services |
| 147 Av / 184 St | Local neighborhood stop |
| Springfield Blvd / Springfield Ln | Southern Springfield Gardens neighborhood access |
| Springfield Blvd / 144 Av | Nearby services on the 144th Avenue corridor |
| Springfield Blvd / Eastgate Plaza | Shopping and local services |
| Springfield Blvd / Merrick Blvd | Important transfer area |
| Springfield Blvd / Montefiore Cemetery | Cemetery-area access |
| Francis Lewis Blvd / Linden Blvd | St. Albans and Linden Boulevard connection |
| Francis Lewis Blvd / Hollis Av | Hollis neighborhood access |
| Francis Lewis Blvd / Jamaica Av | Jamaica Avenue intersection |

Why the Return Direction Has Different Stops
Southbound trips toward Springfield Gardens also serve Hillside Avenue stops near 168th Place, 178th Street and 187th Place, plus a listed stop at 204th Street/111th Avenue Bay 3. The northbound and southbound stop lists should not be treated as identical.
For an unfamiliar stop, our Google Maps transit directions and bus-stop guide explains how to inspect the correct corner, compare walking routes and distinguish scheduled arrivals from live estimates.
Why Old Q77 Bus Maps and Stops May Be Wrong
The MTA redesigned the Q77 in 2025. The changes matter because they altered where some riders can board, particularly at the southern end and along Hillside Avenue.
The route was extended down Springfield Boulevard and 147th Avenue to Farmers Boulevard/Rockaway Boulevard.
Fewer stops are made along Hillside Avenue. Riders needing more local stops can investigate Q1, Q3 or Q76.
The redesign plan increased average stop spacing from 788 feet to 1,056 feet, removing some closely spaced stops.
Examples of Stop Changes
The MTA redesign documentation identifies some former stops removed to improve speed and reliability, including sections around Springfield Boulevard/131st Avenue, 121st Avenue and Francis Lewis Boulevard/115th Avenue. Not all old stop locations remain part of the current service.
Read the official MTA Q77 redesign plan and stop-change details.
Where Do You Catch the Q77 in Jamaica?
The current Q77 stop list identifies its Jamaica endpoint as 168th Street/Jamaica Bus Terminal. This is the interim Jamaica terminal area used after the former 165th Street terminal closed for redevelopment.
Look for the destination sign indicating Jamaica Bus Terminal. This direction travels north along Springfield and Francis Lewis Boulevards before reaching Hillside Avenue.
Official Bus Time may show the destination as “RUSH JAMAICA BUS TERMINAL.”
Look for Springfield Gardens/Rockaway Boulevard on the destination display. This direction travels south from Jamaica.
Official Bus Time may show “RUSH SPRINGFIELD GARDENS ROCKAWAY BLVD.”
The word “RUSH” in the MTA destination description relates to the service pattern; it does not mean the Q77 only operates during commuter rush hours.
Practical Jamaica Terminal Steps
- Navigate to the current 168th Street Jamaica Bus Terminal area.
- Find the Q77 boarding position or route sign.
- Check the bus’s destination, not just its route number.
- Confirm the stop on MTA Bus Time.
- Allow extra time if changing from another bus or walking from a subway station.
Q77 Connections: Hillside Avenue, Jamaica and Southeast Queens
The Q77 is useful for neighborhood trips and connections to the wider MTA network. Some nearby routes provide more local stopping patterns or operate during hours when the Q77 does not.
For stops skipped by Q77 rush service, compare Q1, Q3 and Q76. Choose by the exact intersection, not just the street name.
Q27 is a relevant intersecting corridor near the northern end of Springfield Boulevard. Confirm which direction reaches your destination.
The Springfield/Merrick area offers connections to other southeast Queens bus services. Check whether the transfer stop is across the road.
Q77 vs Q3: Which Is Better for JFK?
The Q77 does not travel directly into JFK Airport. The Q3 serves Jamaica, Farmers Boulevard and parts of JFK Airport, including the Terminal 8 area and Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain connection. For airport travel, use the Q3 Jamaica-to-JFK bus schedule and airport stop guide to compare the airport-bound journey. The Q3 also has overnight service, unlike the Q77.
Q77 vs Q8: Jamaica and the 101st Avenue Corridor
If your journey is between Jamaica and the East New York/Gateway Center corridor rather than along Francis Lewis or Springfield Boulevards, the Q8 bus schedule via 101st Avenue and Gateway Center can help you select the correct alternative. Q8 and Q77 do not serve the same complete path, so verify the boarding point and final destination.
How to Plan a Q77 Transfer Without Missing Your Connection
- Enter your starting point and final destination in the MTA Trip Planner.
- Choose the intended arrival time.
- Review suggested bus or subway combinations.
- Confirm the actual walking distance between stops.
- Check whether any connection needs stairs or an elevator.
- Open the second route’s timetable and alert page.
- Allow extra time when the next service is infrequent.
How Much Is the Q77 Bus Fare?
The Q77 is an MTA local bus. The standard adult fare is $3.00 under the fare structure introduced in January 2026.
How to Pay With OMNY
Eligible transfers are generally available within two hours using the same accepted payment method. Fare policies differ between cash, legacy media and OMNY, and legacy payment acceptance may change during the fare-system transition.
Check current OMNY fares and transfer rules.
How to Track the Q77 Bus Live
MTA Bus Time lists both Q77 directions and their stops. When a vehicle is actively reporting, the service can show its position or estimated arrival. If no live vehicle data is available, consult the scheduled timetable and alerts.
Open Q77 live arrivals on MTA Bus Time.
What If No Q77 Bus Is Approaching?
First check whether the route is operating at the time you selected. If it is after the last trip or before the first trip, Bus Time may show no scheduled service. If you are within operating hours, compare the timetable with any current detour or service alert.
Read MTA service alerts before leaving for the stop.
Is the Q77 Wheelchair Accessible?
MTA local buses provide accessible boarding equipment, including ramps and wheelchair securement spaces. However, the accessibility of the entire journey also depends on the stop location, sidewalk, curb condition and any connecting station.
Check accessible boarding and request ramp assistance from the operator when required.
Verify that the stop has a usable curb and path, especially after temporary construction or permanent stop changes.
Qualifying riders may receive the $1.50 local bus fare through the MTA Reduced-Fare program.
Accessible Boarding Checklist
- Find the current Q77 stop and confirm it has not been removed.
- Check the sidewalk and curb access.
- Read any current stop-relocation notices.
- Confirm the accessibility of any subway connection.
- Allow additional time for boarding assistance.
- Check reduced-fare eligibility if applicable.
Q77 Boarding Tips for Jamaica, Hollis & Springfield Gardens
Confirm your Q77 boarding position at the 168th Street terminal rather than relying on directions to the former 165th Street terminal.
The Q77 makes limited stops there. Check another local bus if the nearest Q77 stop requires an unexpectedly long walk.
Check the stop at Springfield Boulevard/Eastgate Plaza. Confirm the street side for your return journey before crossing.
Q77 intervals can be much wider than on weekdays. Save your boarding stop and check the last departure before leaving.
Before Boarding the Q77
- Confirm the Q77 route and destination.
- Select the correct service day.
- Check first and last departures in your direction.
- Find the exact active stop ID.
- Review the 2025 redesign changes.
- Check MTA Bus Time before leaving.
- Prepare OMNY or another accepted fare method.
- Allow enough time for transfers.
- Check accessibility if needed.
- Verify the last return bus.
