Eco Bus Schedule: Routes, Times & Stops

ECO Transit is now Core Transit

Find the Current ECO/Core Transit Route Before You Leave

Searching for an ECO bus schedule now means checking Core Transit, the regional system that replaced the former ECO Transit operation in Colorado’s Eagle Valley.

The current Summer 2026 network connects Vail, Eagle-Vail, Avon, Edwards, Eagle, Gypsum, Eagle County Regional Airport, Dotsero, Minturn, Red Cliff and Leadville. Most trips are fare-free, while travel to or from EGE, Gypsum and Leadville requires a fare.

Quick answer

ECO Transit Has Become Core Transit

The old ECO Transit regional bus operation is now operated as Core Transit. If an old bookmark, search result, hotel page or local guide still says “ECO Transit,” use the current Core Transit schedule before traveling.

Valley Route Vail ↔ Avon ↔ Edwards ↔ Eagle ↔ Gypsum/EGE ↔ Dotsero.
Highway 6 Route Vail ↔ Eagle-Vail ↔ Avon ↔ Edwards.
Minturn Route Vail ↔ Eagle-Vail ↔ Minturn ↔ Red Cliff.
Leadville Route Vail ↔ Minturn ↔ Red Cliff ↔ Leadville.
Do not rely on old ECO fare information. Core Transit is now fare-free for most trips. Fares are required when traveling to or from Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE), Gypsum or Leadville.

Current vs upcoming service

Which Core Transit Schedule Is Active Now?

As of this guide’s October 2, 2026 review, Core Transit lists the Summer 2026 schedule as operating April 12 through November 21. The seasonal Vail/Beaver Creek Express is listed to return November 22.

Current: Summer 2026 April 12 – November 21, 2026

Current fixed-route choices include Valley, Highway 6, Minturn and Leadville service.

  • Valley Route serves Dotsero through Vail.
  • Highway 6 serves the Vail–Edwards corridor.
  • Minturn service includes Red Cliff trips.
  • Leadville commuter service remains in operation.
Why the effective date matters: mountain transit schedules can change between summer and winter. A departure time saved in October may not be correct after the November winter change.

Core Transit Routes That Replace the Old ECO Schedule

Valley Route

This is the main long-distance valley route and the route to use for Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE).

East: Dotsero → Gypsum/EGE → Eagle → Edwards → Avon → Vail West: Vail → Avon → Edwards → Eagle → Gypsum/EGE → Dotsero Best for: Long valley trips and airport travel Fare: Free except trips to/from Gypsum or EGE

Local tip: if your trip involves EGE Airport, Gypsum, Eagle or Dotsero, start with the Valley Route rather than Highway 6.

Highway 6 Route

The Highway 6 Route is designed for local trips between Vail, Eagle-Vail, Avon and Edwards.

East: Edwards → Avon → Eagle-Vail → Vail West: Vail → Eagle-Vail → Avon → Edwards Fare: Fare-free across the route Good for: Local commuting and shorter trips

2026 update: the summer schedule added West Vail Mall stops and additional peak-period westbound service to Freedom Park.

Minturn Route

This scenic corridor links Vail, Eagle-Vail, Minturn and Red Cliff.

East: Vail → Eagle-Vail → Minturn → Red Cliff West: Red Cliff → Minturn → Eagle-Vail → Vail Fare: Fare-free at all Minturn Route stops Alternative: Leadville Route serves many Minturn stops

Local tip: if one Minturn departure does not fit your trip, check the Leadville Route because Core Transit notes that it serves most Minturn stops too.

Leadville Route

The Leadville Route provides commuter-oriented service connecting Vail, Minturn, Red Cliff and Leadville.

Direction: Vail ↔ Minturn ↔ Red Cliff ↔ Leadville Pattern: Morning/evening commuter-oriented service Fare: Required to or from Leadville Summer: Apr 12–Nov 21

Planning tip: Leadville has fewer trips than the core valley corridors. Check the exact return departure before leaving Vail or Leadville.

Vail / Beaver Creek Express

This is the seasonal express linking Vail Transportation Center, Avon Station and Beaver Creek Village.

Season: Winter 2026 return: November 22 Main use: Resort and skier connections Connection: Regional Core Transit routes

Important: this is seasonal. Do not assume it operates during the current October summer schedule.

Eagle County Regional Airport Trips

The Valley Route is the Core Transit service used for Eagle County Regional Airport.

Airport: EGE Route: Valley East / West Adult fare: $3 per ride Youth: 18 and under currently free

Luggage is allowed but must remain under the passenger’s control. Core Transit states that operators cannot load or unload luggage for riders.

Dotsero Gypsum / EGE Eagle Edwards Avon Eagle-Vail Vail Leadville Red Cliff / Minturn
Network-reading tip: Valley Route handles the longest I-70 corridor and EGE airport. Highway 6 focuses on Vail–Edwards local travel. Minturn and Leadville service branch south from the Vail/Minturn corridor.
Schedule and times

How to Check ECO Bus Times Correctly

Core Transit publishes separate schedules by route and direction. There is no single “ECO bus time” because departure times depend on route, direction, stop and season.

Trip Need Route to Check Direction What Matters Most
Vail ↔ Avon / Edwards Highway 6 or Valley East or West Compare both routes for the best departure and stop.
EGE Airport Valley Route East / West Airport stop requires a fare; allow extra travel buffer.
Vail ↔ Minturn Minturn or Leadville Check destination sign Leadville Route can serve many Minturn stops.
Vail ↔ Leadville Leadville Route Route-specific Fewer daily trips; check return trip before leaving.
Vail ↔ Beaver Creek Highway 6 now; Vail/BC Express in season Verify current season Express is seasonal and returns November 22.
Arrival recommendation: be at your stop about 5–10 minutes before the scheduled time. Use additional buffer for airport trips, transfers, snow, road congestion or infrequent Leadville service.

2. Confirm EGE Stop Check the current timetable and airport stop.
3. Buy Fare Adult airport fare is currently listed at $3.
4. Track Bus Check live vehicle location before leaving.
