Find the Right CAT Bus Routes, Times, Stops, Fares and Live Tracker
“CAT bus schedule” does not identify one U.S. transit system. It can mean Chatham Area Transit in Savannah, Clemson CATbus, Charlottesville Area Transit, Collier Area Transit in Naples, Cities Area Transit in Grand Forks, Concord Area Transit or Harrisburg-area service historically searched as CAT.
This guide helps you identify the correct CAT first, then check the official route, departure time, stop, fare, live vehicle location, service alert, accessible ride option and printable schedule.
If you are in Savannah or Chatham County, CAT normally means Chatham Area Transit. In several other cities, however, the same three letters identify a completely different transit system.
Confirm your city
Savannah, Clemson, Charlottesville, Naples, Grand Forks, Concord and Harrisburg-area CAT searches do not share routes or timetables.
Confirm the agency name
Read the full transit name on the official website, bus stop, app or schedule before using any departure time.
Confirm the route
A system-level operating span does not tell you when your individual route starts or ends.
Check live conditions
Detours, construction, holidays, temporary suspensions and vehicle tracking can override an older PDF.
Common mistake: a $1.50 Savannah CAT fare does not apply to Collier CAT, Grand Forks CAT or Harrisburg-area buses. Clemson, Charlottesville and Concord currently operate fare-free fixed-route service.
Choose the system serving your location before reading a route time or purchasing a fare product.

Construction or detours can change the trip.
A bus can disappear from the map without being canceled. CAT says a vehicle that stops transmitting data may disappear from CAT Tracker even while still operating.
Traffic delay

CAT notes that an estimated time can remain unchanged while a delayed vehicle is not moving.
Equipment or data issue
Real-time information can be affected by equipment or data-transmission problems.
CAT Bus to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport
Chatham CAT Route 3 West Chatham serves Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center.
Do not treat Route 3 as a nonstop airport shuttle. CAT specifically describes it as normal fixed-route service, so intermediate stops and scheduled running time must be considered when catching a flight.
Downtown connection
Joe Murray Rivers Jr. Intermodal Transit Center is the major downtown-side terminal.
Airport direction
Check Route 3 West Chatham and confirm the airport appears in the trip pattern.
Flight buffer
Allow additional time for traffic, intermediate stops and airport walking time.
Official PDF insight: the Route 3 document marks major timing points and transfers, including the transit center, West Chatham corridor and airport-side locations.
DOT Express Shuttle
CAT currently publishes weekday operation from 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
Weekend DOT
Current weekend operation is published from 10 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
Savannah Belles Ferry
CAT currently lists ferry operation from 7 a.m.–10 p.m., seven days a week, subject to service changes.
Visitor strategy: use free downtown services for the historic district when they fit the trip, then connect to a paid local route only when traveling farther into Chatham County.

Example: How to Read a Savannah CAT Route Map and Timetable
CAT Route 31 Skidaway/Sandfly is a good example of why a schedule needs more than a list of bus times. Its official March 2025 PDF contains a map, timing points, transfer routes, direction-specific stop sequences and separate weekday, Saturday, Sunday and holiday tables.
Weekday Timing Example From the Official Route 31 PDF
The sample below reproduces one morning outbound trip as an easier-to-read timing-point strip. It does not replace the full CAT timetable.
Intermodal Transit Center6:30 AM
Anderson & Waters6:43 AM
Riverview7:01 AM
Walmart / Montgomery Cross7:10 AM
Sallie Mood / Goodwill7:20 AM
Hodgson Memorial7:26 AM
What this teaches: if your stop is between timing points C and D, do not assume the bus reaches it exactly at either printed time. Use the tracker or estimate between the two official timepoints.
Direction changes the timing points
The return trip includes different downtown-side points such as Henry & Waters and E. Broad & Gwinnett.
Transfer symbols matter
The official map shows connections with Routes 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 27 and 28 at different parts of the Route 31 corridor.
Schedule day matters
Weekday service is more frequent than Sunday service, so always start with the correct table.

PDF freshness rule: always compare the effective date inside a PDF with CAT’s current schedule page. Route changes can be posted separately before an older downloadable document disappears.
CAT Accessibility, Wheelchairs and CAT Mobility
Accessible fixed-route buses
CAT’s rider material states that buses are accessible and include ramps, wheelchair seating/securement areas and the ability to kneel for easier boarding.
Ask for the ramp
Riders may ask the operator to kneel the vehicle or deploy the boarding ramp when needed.
Priority seating
Priority seating is located near the front of the bus for seniors and passengers with disabilities.
CAT Mobility
CAT Mobility is ADA paratransit for eligible riders whose disability prevents them from using fixed-route transit for some or all trips.
Reasonable modification
CAT accepts reasonable-modification requests for riders who need a policy or practice adjusted because of disability.
Alternative schedule format
CAT states that schedule documents can be requested in accessible formats such as large print, Braille or audio.
Important: an accessible bus does not guarantee that every temporary bus stop has the same curb, sidewalk or boarding conditions.
Bicycles, Strollers and Personal Items on CAT
Bicycle racks
CAT’s current rider guide says buses can accommodate bicycles on front-mounted bike racks.
Load your bike
Riders are responsible for loading and unloading their own bicycle from the rack.
Stroller rule
CAT’s Route 31 rider document says infants must be removed and strollers folded before boarding.

CAT Bus Problems and What to Do Next
The tracker shows no bus
The vehicle may have stopped transmitting location data. Check the scheduled time and active alerts before assuming the trip was canceled.
The schedule and tracker disagree
A printed timetable is scheduled service; a tracker uses current vehicle data. Check alerts for the reason behind the difference.
Route 20 appears in an old Savannah search result
CAT’s current schedule page marks Route 20 Skidaway Island/Coffee Bluff temporarily suspended.
The Savannah airport bus takes longer than expected
Route 3 is normal fixed-route service, not a nonstop airport shuttle.
You expected Clemson CATbus to charge a fare
Clemson Area Transit currently operates fare-free.
You expected Concord–Laconia service
Concord CAT permanently suspended the Concord–Laconia Connector effective January 30, 2026.
