This is the main P&B corridor for Hyannis, Barnstable, Sagamore, Plymouth and Rockland travelers going to South Station or Logan Airport.

P&B says its published schedules run every day of the week, including weekends and most holidays. Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are special exceptions.

Logan Direct vs Regular P&B Service

Regular Hyannis / South Shore Bus

Typical stop sequence:

Hyannis → Barnstable → Sagamore → Plymouth → Rockland → South Station → Logan Airport.

Choose this pattern if you need Plymouth, Rockland or Boston South Station.

Logan Direct

Direct pattern:

Hyannis → Barnstable → Sagamore → Logan Airport.

It bypasses Plymouth, Rockland and South Station. On the official timetable these trips are marked with an airplane symbol.

Do not board Logan Direct for Plymouth or Rockland. A bus can have “P&B” and “Logan” on it while intentionally skipping the South Shore stops you need.

P&B publishes approximate route durations for trip planning. Actual travel can be longer, particularly during summer Cape traffic and Boston congestion.

Where to Board Plymouth & Brockton at Logan Airport

P&B boards at each airline terminal on the lower level outside baggage claim in the area marked Scheduled Buses, normally in the orange zone.

Buses enter the airport at Terminal A and continue through the terminals, so the vehicle can reach B, C or E a few minutes after the timetable’s Logan time.

Be curbside: P&B warns that airport congestion can force buses to use another operationally safe pickup point. Waiting inside the terminal can cause you to miss the coach.

Plymouth & Brockton operates from gates 7 and 8 at the South Station Bus Terminal. The gate numbers changed November 4, 2025; these were formerly gates 18 and 19.

P&B does not publish one universal bus fare because price depends on the origin, destination and ticket type. The official online ticket portal calculates the current price after you select the trip pair.

Online only P&B says tickets must be purchased through its website. Drivers cannot sell tickets.

Children

Children generally require their own ticket. Children under 12 can receive a reduced fare to or from South Station or Logan when traveling with an adult. Unaccompanied children pay the full adult fare.

P&B identifies an infant being carried in a body/snuggle sack by an adult as its stated exception to the child-ticket requirement.

Airport baggage planning

P&B Luggage Limits, Carry-Ons and Bicycles

Adult full-size allowance 2 pieces per adult ticket.
Child full-size allowance 1 piece per child ticket.
Full-size weight limit 50 lb maximum per bag.
Carry-on limit 25 lb one carry-on per passenger.
No checked-baggage service Bags are transported as unchecked baggage. Tag luggage inside and outside and confirm that you remove the correct bag when leaving.
Carry-on counts toward allowance The carry-on must fit overhead or beneath the seat and counts toward the published two-piece adult baggage limit.
Personal item P&B allows an additional small personal item such as a purse, briefcase or lunchbox.
Excess baggage Extra baggage can be carried for an additional fee, subject to P&B rules and available space.
Bicycles Standard bicycles can be accepted in the baggage compartment when space remains after passenger baggage. A fee applies and transport is at the owner’s risk.
Prohibited battery devices P&B prohibits hoverboards, electric bicycles and electric scooters on its property and buses. ADA mobility devices are handled under separate accessibility rules.
Wheelchair & ADA planning

Wheelchair Accessibility on Plymouth & Brockton Coaches

P&B states that its coaches are equipped with wheelchair lifts and that reservations are not required for accessible transportation.

However, riders requiring wheelchair accessibility are advised to call at least 24 hours before travel. This lets staff move seats and prepare the coach before boarding.

Electrical outlets P&B advertises onboard electrical outlets for charging devices.
Restroom P&B states that all of its coaches are equipped with restrooms.

Using P&B With Woods Hole or Hyannis Ferry Travel

Woods Hole P&B serves the Woods Hole Steamship Authority terminal area at 1 Cowdry Road, making the route useful for Martha’s Vineyard ferry connections.
Hyannis The Hyannis Transportation Center is a major Cape transportation hub and can support connections with local Cape Cod transportation and island ferry travel.
Do not schedule a tight ferry connection: P&B does not guarantee arrival times, and Cape traffic can vary dramatically by season and weekend.

Common P&B Travel Problems and the Correct Next Step

I bought a ticket but the bus is full P&B tickets do not reserve a specific departure. Service is first-come, first-served, so arrive early.
I tried to pay the driver Drivers cannot sell tickets or accept cash. Purchase a valid online ticket before boarding.
My Logan bus skipped Plymouth You may have selected a Logan Direct trip. Direct buses intentionally bypass Plymouth, Rockland and South Station.
The Woods Hole bus passed Sagamore Northbound Sagamore is a request stop on the current Woods Hole trips. Tell the driver before reaching the stop.
I cannot find gates 18/19 Those are the old numbers. P&B now uses South Station gates 7 and 8.
