Central New York Centro Schedule Guide

Find Centro Bus Routes, Departure Times, Stops, Fares and Live Arrivals

Centro operates separate route networks in Syracuse, Auburn, Cortland, Oswego, Rome and Utica. A route number without its city prefix can lead to the wrong schedule, fare zone or transit hub.

Use this guide to select the correct service area, read Centro’s online timetable, find every published stop, check the latest service changes, compare fares and open the official real-time bus tracker.

Quick answer

How to Find the Correct Centro Bus Schedule

Centro does not use one combined timetable for all of Central New York. Select the city or county network first, then open the route page and choose your travel date and direction.

Choose the service area Use Syracuse, Auburn, Cortland, Oswego, Rome or Utica. The same number can mean something different in another region.
Match the prefix Look for SY, AUB, COR, OSW, FUL, MEX, ROME or UT before relying on the route number.
Select the direction Centro pages commonly use “From Hub” and “To Hub.” Intercity routes may use city or terminal names instead.
Check the travel date Weekday, Saturday, Sunday, holiday, university and seasonal service can produce different departures.
Regional-connection warning: Centro connects Syracuse with Auburn, Fulton and Oswego, but Centro does not operate direct intercity service between Syracuse, Utica, Cortland and Rome.

Route-family warning: the published route directory may group several numbered trip patterns beneath one corridor. For example, a bus numbered 20, 120, 220 or another variant may serve a different endpoint or deviation.

How to Find Centro Bus Times Online

Open Centro’s official route directory. Start at the main routes and schedules page and select Auburn, Cortland, Oswego, Rome, Syracuse or Utica.
Choose the exact route name. Match the prefix, base number and destination. Do not choose a route solely because the numeric portion looks familiar.
Select your travel date. The page can display different trips for weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays or changed service periods.
Check “All time points.” This expands the online timetable so additional listed timepoints become visible.
Select the direction. Choose From Hub, To Hub or the named destination direction shown on the route page.
Move the blue horizontal schedule bar. Centro notes that some timepoints remain off screen until the blue scroll bar is moved.
Open the PDF or route map when needed. The buttons at the top of each route page lead to the printable timetable, route map and route-specific alerts.
Arrive at least five minutes early. Scheduled times are planning times and do not guarantee that the bus will wait at an intermediate stop.

How to Read a Centro Timetable Without Missing the Bus

Route

Direction
Match the bus destination.

T
Find the letter nearest your stop.
Departure row

Schedules list timepoints, not every stop Centro buses normally serve marked blue Centro stops along the route even when those stops are not printed as timetable columns.
Read the schedule left to right The sequence of columns shows the direction of travel. A time appearing farther right is later in that same trip.
Dashes can mean no service A dash commonly means that the trip does not serve that timepoint or follows another branch.
Bold times usually indicate afternoon or evening Check the notes printed in the PDF because formatting conventions can differ.
“Continues as” can save another fare When the same bus continues as a new route at the Hub, Centro says riders do not need to re-board and pay again.
A normal transfer requires another payment Centro has eliminated paper transfers. When you leave one bus and board another, another fare is generally required unless you have a valid unlimited pass.

Mobility devices Centro buses accommodate qualifying mobility devices and provide securement areas near the front of the vehicle.

Service animals Trained service animals are allowed on Centro buses without an added fare. The rider must maintain control of the animal.
Reasonable modifications Requests can be made through Centro when a policy adjustment is needed to use the service safely.
Call-A-Bus ADA paratransit is available for eligible people whose disability prevents use of the fixed-route bus for some or all trips.
Website accessibility Riders having difficulty accessing online information can contact Centro for assistance or request schedules by mail.
Call-A-Bus information: 315-442-3434. Centro’s Call-A-Bus area follows the fixed-route network and extends approximately three-quarters of a mile beyond qualifying routes.

Bicycles, Strollers, Carts, Groceries and Pets

Bicycles Bicycles are not allowed inside the bus. Many full-size buses in Onondaga, Cayuga and Oswego counties have front racks for up to two bicycles or underfloor storage.
E-bikes and e-scooters E-bikes and e-scooters are not permitted inside the bus. An e-bike may use the exterior bicycle rack only when it fits securely without extra fasteners.
Strollers Children must be removed from the stroller once aboard. The stroller must be folded and stored away from doors and aisles.
Boarding with a child in a stroller A child may remain in the stroller only while boarding through the ramp or lift. Riders may not lift an occupied stroller onto the bus.
Small pets Small domestic animals may travel in an enclosed carrier. Disruptive or aggressive animals can be refused.
Groceries and carts Carts and bags must remain under the rider’s control and cannot block aisles, doors or mobility-device areas.

Centro Service Alerts, Snow Routes and Holiday Schedules

Service alerts Centro posts delay, detour and disruption notices caused by weather, traffic, construction and special events.
Snow routes Selected routes have alternate winter paths. Other routes may operate limited service or be suspended during extreme conditions.
Holiday schedules Many Syracuse PDFs state that buses use Sunday schedules on major observed holidays. This rule is not universal across every route.
UT33 exception UT33’s PDF states no Sunday service and no service on the listed major observed holidays.
College service Some trips operate only when a college or university is in regular session.
Seasonal routes State Fair, event, campus and seasonal services can use separate boarding points and schedules.

Do not assume “Sunday schedule” means the route operates: routes without Sunday service may have no holiday service.

Centro Trip Checklist Before Leaving

The app shows an old schedule Clear the GoCentroBus cache on Android. On iOS, reinstalling the app may be required after a schedule update.

Your tap-to-pay charge looks too high Centro may combine several same-day rides into one transaction. Call Revenue Collections at 315-442-3342 for account assistance.
You need a second bus A normal transfer requires another fare because paper transfers were eliminated. Consider a Day Pass or MAX Pass for multiple rides.
You missed the final trip Call Centro, check a nearby route or use a safe alternative. Do not assume another region’s route with the same number runs later.
